(6 months later, Alice's' P.O.V)

It's hard to believe it's already been six months.

Back then, after Amon's tyranny ripped our country apart, everyone was terrified. Cradle history had never told of such a devastating political blow, where masses of people were terrorizing the public with uncontrollable Magic, and both the Red and Black Army King's were dangerous and unpredictable, unable to make the decisions needed to keep us all safe because they too had succumbed to the same illness that caused such chaos.

Cradle suffered many deaths. Hundreds of millions of Lin in damage had been done, with buildings annihilated, houses set on fire, and stores diminished to mere rubble.

Even the hospitals suffered devastating consequences. So many injured flocked to the infirmaries, desperate for care for missing limbs, concussions, internal bleeding, and a slew of other near fatal conditions -

Cradle had never been rendered so vulnerable, ever in its history of war and violence.

Needless to say, rebuilding the political structure, the economic infrastructure, and the trust of the people, was a now ongoing process. A slow one, with many new laws being put in place each day to quell the fear, and restart the country with more backbone and protection.

The Magic Tower was abolished. Only the Black Army and the Red Army remained as political factions now. Any survivors from the Magic Tower were assimilated into the Armies and were under consistent surveillance until they were deemed safe and fit to contribute to society.

Practicing Magic was left to teachers and was now a new and official class in school only. All adults were also welcome to attend the classes, and many new schools for adult lessons had cropped up as Cradle began to rebuild itself. Each and every citizen was encouraged to learn about Magic, and be versed enough in it to understand how to defend themselves against it, should any sort of criminal activity crop up in time.

Magic Crystals were a publicly traded item now. At a single time, both the Red and Black Armies were permitted to only own the same amount of Crystals by weight. There was now a committee that kept a firm inventory on each and every stone of Magic, and ensured both Armies had what they needed.  No more, no less. The committee was made up of both Black and Red army citizens, and the Kings of each regularly checked in on them to ensure no foul play was suspected.

Slowly, Cradle has begun to get back on its feet. Luka has begun to walk again, properly this time, without any crutches. Sirius, despite some persistent memory loss, has been able to recover entirely.
On the Red side, Edgar too, was able to make a full recovery. And both Jonah and Levie have been busy each day, using their status as well as innate Magic to assist in rebuilding this country.

Together with Lancelot, Ray, Sirius, and the rest of fhd army lieutenants, slowly things have started to go back to normal.

And now, it was Summer.

Having finished putting away the dishes, I glanced Jonah as he slept on the short, plush couch in the living room of our new house. I took off my apron and strode through the doorway of the kitchen and passed him quietly, making sure not to rouse him.

Well, really I should say, our newly rebuilt house.

I slipped on my running shoes and headed outside. The painted white door of our stone, 2 bedroom, single floor home didn't make a single sound as I stepped out.

Finally, after months of planning and work, Jonah and Levie paid for their parents house to be rebuilt. And in doing so, Levie allowed us to live in it, as our first home.

I can still remember Jonah's face when Levie told him. It was a mix of shock, awe, and emotion.

He never thought he'd see the day when his parents house would be his to enjoy.
