Just a heads up for the whole book, I'm not exactly the best writer so some things might be confusing or the plot might not be good... But yeah I'm trying my hardest to make this actually good.

Molly swung the door of the shop open, throwing her bag to the floor. "Aunt Cass, I'm back!" She called out, removing her gloves and boots. She absolutely hated the gloves, as they were often really uncomfortable to wear all day.

A woman with messy hair moved her goggles to her forehead, smiling at Molly. She wiped a bit of dirt off her face before coming over to her. "So, how was the trip?"

Molly shrugged, she didn't exactly enjoy the trip that was mandatory in the school curriculum. "Could've been better," she replied.

"Oh..." Cass looked her in the eyes, "what happe-"

"Hey boss, back's all cleaned up!" Called a worker Drone who was just coming out from the back, cutting off Cass.

Cass turned to face them. "Thanks K!" she said to him with a smile. Cass and K had been friends for a really long time, probably since before the accident that had claimed Molly's left hand and foot. Aunt Cass also had a few of these metal replacements, but hers were less than Molly's. Three fingers on her right hand were replaced. Molly, on the other hand, has most of her left arm replaced, and a good portion of her lower leg and foot. Heck, for all she knew she could also have internal replacements.

"I'm going to go pick up the order from the storage facility, I'll be back shortly!" K informed them, heading towards the door.

"Alright, have fun!" Cass told him with a wave. She turned back to face Molly. "Almost forgot to tell you, your friends stopped by earlier wondering where you were, they said they'd meet you later tonight."

"Oh! I should probably get going then!" Molly looked around in a panic. She had completely forgotten that tonight she was supposed to meet with them.

Cass handed her the gloves. "Alright, just stay clear of the Elliot's, they're having some kind of fancy party or something like that. Stupid fancy stuff."

"Okay!" Molly slipped on her coat and boots, followed by the gloves. "See you later!" She rushed out the door and began to make her way to the clearing.

A gentle breeze rustled in the leaves above, creating a peaceful ambience as Molly made her way through the forest. She took determined steps as she neared her destination. This path had been traveled by her many times before, as it was the only way to see the ones who treated her as an equal. The drones were practically her best (and only) friends.

Society never treated people like her with respect, often seeing those who required the metal prosthetics as less human, and therefore they didn't matter. That was why she had to meet with them. The drones were the only ones who didn't treat her like crap, as they actually understood.

T and S were the best. They always went out of their way to make sure Molly was happy. T was determined, defensive, and quite knowledgeable. S, despite the fact that she couldn't talk, was the biggest sweetheart, and quite artistic as well.

As she made her way into the clearing, she noticed it was surprisingly empty. "Huh... I'm sure they'll be here soon..." She muttered under her breath. Worry pressed at the back of her mind. What if something happened to them? No, don't even think about that... She thought to herself. But the worry was still there.

Time passed slowly, almost tauntingly. She kept telling herself that they would get here soon, but she felt like they might not. It's okay, they'll be here soon. Molly told herself. She needed to stop worrying so much. They probably just had extra work to do or something. She brought out her knife and began scraping it against the edge of a fallen branch, just to relieve her worry.
