"WHAT DO YOU mean uncle Aaron?" Rick asked.

"What do you think?" Valerie said running up to hug him and then stood by Maggie.

"We met him outside, he's by himself." Maggie explained to her daughter.

"We took his weapons and we took his gear." She explained to the rest of the group.

"Hi." Aaron said, trying to shake Ricks hand and instead being meet with clicking guns. "You said he had a weapon?" Rick asked.

"Yeah." Maggie said handing Valerie the handgun which she then tossed to Rick. "There something you need." Rick asked, but not really in the form of a question.

"He has camp nearby." Sasha told Rick. "He wants to audition for membership." She explained.

"I wish there was another word. Audition makes it sound like we're some kind of dance troupe." Aaron joked. "That's only on Fridays," he whispered.

"Oh, and it's not a camp. It's a community." Aaron cleared that up.

"So what y'all took a town and made that into a base?" Val asked.

"Yeah, that town near D.C., Alexandria." Aaron told her.

"So, back to it. Like I said its a community and I think you all would make valuable additions." Aaron told the group. "But it isn't my call. My job is to convince y'all to go to Alexandria." He added. "I know. If I were you, I wouldn't go either. Not until I knew exactly what I was getting into." Aaron explained.

"V, could you please pass him my pack." Aaron said pointing to Rick.

"Yeah, unc." She went up to Rick. "There's not a way I could convince you to come with me just by talking about our community. That's why I brought those." Aaron's explained as Rick looked at the photos.

"That's the first thing I wanted to show you all. I apologize in advance for the quality." Aaron apologized.

"I wanted you to see it, because nothing I say about the place will matter unless you know your safe." Aaron explained, "If you join us, you'll be safe." He reassured them.

"Each panel in the wall is a 15-foot-high, 12-foot-wide slab of solid steel framed by cold-rolled steel beams and square tubing." Aaron explained as Rick stood up.

"Nothing dead or alive gets in without the say so." Aaron told them all. "Like I said, security is obviously important. In fact, there's only one resource more critical to our community's survival. The people." Aaron was about to start another sentence he was punched and knocked out by Rick.
