Chapter 1: Oh...Great

(Yes this is somewhat of a "Soulmates!?" Chapter 1 rewrite)

"He's thinking . . Come now Xelqua . . don't be so stubborn~"
I opened my eyes suddenly. I was in a circle of people. My friends and some family surrounded me, completely still and quiet, I started my journey first before everyone else 'woke' up.

I walked around for a bit when I felt the pain on my wrist. I rolled up my sleeve which revealed words on my wrist,
Soulmate: _ _ _ _
"They're marking us now huh.. great..." I muttered as I put my sleeve back in place. "I bet the name will be revealed once I find my soulmate.. god I hope it's not Scar.."

I found a pillager outpost nearby and made my way over there, to which I found Joel, Etho, and Scar.
They came over to me and we started talking, mentioning how I haven't found my soulmate yet.

"Have you found your partner yet Grian?" Joel asked. "No, but whoever I'm paired with is desperately trying to get me killed" I said, glancing over at Scar, who was following an Allay around.
I punched him to get his attention and I felt a sharp pain in my back. I froze. No no this can't be.. "Scar, I think..-SCAR! SCAR I THINK WE'RE SOULMATES BUT YOU'RE TOO BUSY CHASING FAIRIES!!" I yelled. "Hold on Grian! My true soulmate is flying away from me, Get back here!" Scar yelled back. I don't think he understood what I meant.

Joel swam over to Scar who was busy chasing the Allay. He started trying to get Scar to listen to him, but when he wouldn't, Joel decided to do a Joel thing and he punched Scar on the side of the head. I felt the pain in the side of my head. "NOOOOOOOOoo-" I yelled at the top of my lungs. I heard Joel laughing. "Are you actually linked?" Joel said as Etho and him swam back over to me. I looked over at Scar and just started to panic. 'No..no this can't be.. THIS CAN'T BE!'

This is gonna be one heck of a series.
