One Of The Girls | Harin x Sooji

Chapter 11:

Sooji sent Harin a message to don't go back to the classroom yet, she headed to the school's rooftop with a heavy chest and complicated feelings, she doesn't want to do this, but Jaeun reminded her again that she should tell Harin to stay away from her starting now, because Jaeun have already reported her in the police station and to school's office, Harin has no idea that she'll be arrested later.

When she opened the rooftop's door, she walked towards her girlfriend with a poker face, trying her best to approach her nonchalantly.

Harin was about to hug her, but she stepped back, causing the taller girl to stopped in her track.

"We should stop seeing each other, Baek Harin."

Harin furrowed her brows, completely confused by her words.

"What are you saying? I'm your girlfriend, Sooji."

"Not anymore." Sooji is trying her best to act tough in front of her, knowing that she's just being forced to do this, her heart is breaking because she must really endure it if she has a heart of what happened last year.

"Yah... don't say that. I thought you liked me? I thought our feelings are mutual already? why the sudden change of heart? Sung Sooji, look at me!"

Harin forced her to look at her by grabbing her hands, she's getting frustrated of how Sooji couldn't even look straight into her eyes.

"Sung Sooji, we're not breaking up. I wouldn't allow myself to lose you now. I told you, I like you! the feelings I have for you is real! I'm not pretending at all, if you're thinking of me that way, then I'm here to prove you that you're wrong! Why are you suddenly giving up on me? let's not act like this, Sooji. Please. Sooji... don't. "

Sooji bit her lower lip, preventing herself to shed a tears, she couldn't even look at Harin, the taller girl is begging her to stay.

She held her hand, as she let go of Harin's grip on her.

"Harin-ah. I'm sorry."

"N-No... don't leave me."

Sooji finally meet her eyes, the sorrow in Harin's eyes are evident, and that breaks her more.

"I gathered all my remaining strengths in order to talk to you today... you have no idea how much I wanted to be with you, how much I wanted to keep going, but we don't hold any circumstances every single day... and it's terrible to know that." She paused.

"Baek Harin. I'm sorry.... for giving you false hope, for leading you on and given you hope that this thing between us are going to work in the end, though deep down we knew, it's just not possible."

Harin's heart shattered into pieces upon hearing that.

"You know that. We both know that. But what's matters the most is we tried." Sooji continues, she can't help but to let her tears fall down in her cheeks.

Sooji was taken aback of Harin's declaration.

"I know. I heard your conversation with Jaeun yesterday... but because I love you, I can't hate you, and I must not blame you, Sooji."

Sooji frozed.

"If you were pretending to liking me, I don't care. What we have right now is what matters the most to me... I just need you to stay with me, to be with me, to choose me, to defend me."

Sooji knows she can't, she can't do that.

Harin is in tears, she felt her throat is getting dry upon looking at her girlfriend, she's hoping that Sooji would changed her mind, but then, her heart dropped to her stomach when Sooji shakes her head slowly, as she looked down in her feet, tears rolled down.

"Are you really going to stick with my words? when I said that it was okay if you're going to report me? are you really looking forward to that?" Harin's voice cracked.

"I'm sorry." Sooji could only say.

Harin stared at her in despair, she felt like a hundreds of knives stabbed her in the heart.

"I love you, Sung Sooji."

Sooji slowly meet her eyes.

"Whatever you do, I'd be happy for you. And if reporting my wrongdoings can make you feel better, then so be it... I should take the consequences. I'll be fine." Harin caresses her hands, trying to smile warmly though she's completely breaking inside.

"But do remember that I have never loved anyone the way I loved you."

Sooji finds herself, crashing to Harin's chest, as she sobbed louder, Harin patting her back, she's slowly accepting it now.

"Baek Harin, I love you."

When she said that, the rooftop door got opened, revealing the police officers and their professors, Harin and Sooji pulled away from each other, as Harin watches them to come closer to her direction, Sooji couldn't even do anything but to let them handcuffs Baek Harin.

She watches them, putting a handcuffs on Harin's hands, as her tears won't stopped falling down her cheeks of the sight, she felt her throat is being clenched, even more when she saw Jaeun in the back together with Jaehyeong and Yelim. Sooji wanted to scream it all out and take Harin's hand.

Harin looked back at her, smiling bitterly while she's being dragged out.

This is heartbreaking.

She couldn't do anything to stopped them, knowing that Harin really done a mistakes, it wasn't just a simple, it was big because it's about students' lives.

Jaeun came to her, as she comforts her.

"It's over now, Sooji."

She couldn't help but to embraced her bestfriend, she can hate Jaeun for continuing the plan, but she must not hate her, because she's just siding the right way.

After all, Sooji is not ashamed that she fell in love with Baek Harin, at least, she taught her how to love in an odd way, Harin let her see what was the real her, Harin also learned about being a good person, Sooji also taught her to be honest with what she really felt, overall, Harin really did loved her.

"Did you really loved her?" Jaeun asked all of sudden.

Sooji nodded, "I did... just like how she did it."

Sooji can't stand to see herself going to the classroom always without seeing Harin on the chair, she can't stand that she will have to attend school always without getting a sight of Harin anymore. Well, that would be a lot.

She will missed their meet up, the naughty things that they did, the awkward things that Harin did with her, if Sooji would admit it, she loves it, she likes being stuck with Harin. But she can't just side her of what she have done, yes you may call it past already, but you can't even deny that it was literally wrong.

Sooji must accept that she's losing Harin now.
