Raghav POV

The marriage was arranged by my parents who were really concerned about my workaholic behavior. They literally taunt me continuously for a week. I finally gave up in front of them and agreed to marriage.

It's not like I have anyone in my life, actually i never had. I have been busy in my studies initially and then in my work, being SP is a handful job.

I can't say I know Sonali, my fiancé, very well as we barely met. After the meeting of families, we went on a date to know each other but she was really quite, just replying whatever I asked. I couldn't understand, maybe she was nervous. I even asked her if she really want to marry me and she said yes and didn't have any problem if my parents like her, so here we are.

I stepped inside the house after attending the call from work, and my eyes met with a pair of beautiful eyes. I couldn't avert my gaze from those eyes and something inside me went thump.

I came back to the earth hearing the voice of my papa "Raghav beta!" He gestured me to get closer to him. I went to him and gave a small smile to them.

"I want to introduce you to someone. She is-" he was intrupted by a feminine voice " I will introduce myself uncle ji, if You don't mind." The girl with beautiful eyes said." Sure beta" papa smiled.

"Hi soon-to-be jiju" She said smiling brightly " I'm Piya. Your soon-to-be sister-in-law and half wife." She completed her sentence with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Oh! Hello Piya, it's really nice to meet you." I greeted her back. Ok maybe it came out more formally than I wanted.

She was about to say something when pundit ji asked to start the ceremony.

Author POV

Reema asked Piya to bring Sonali along with Shalini. Soon Sonali was standing beside Raghav and both exchanged the rings.

Now the newly engaged couple is sitting and everyone is greeting them. Piya was sitting beside them talking and teasing them continuously.

"Dii we have to say you're really lucky huh, jiju is handsome." She chirped and Sonali just look down.

Raghav hear this and blushed but  composed himself and said smirking, "So you found me handsome Sali ji. Well thanks for complement."

Piya felt intimidated when Raghav looked directly into her eyes but managed to say, " Don't think so high of yourself. My dii is the most beautiful girl in our whole family, so you're more lucky."

Raghav laughed but agreed to her.
"BTW what you do for living jiju? I'm not judging you, its just i want to know that if you can take care of my dii properly. " Piya inquired further to which Raghav answered, "I am SP in Varanasi."

"Oh so you're Thanedar Sahab. Dii you're going to be thanedarni. You know what, we will play that song on your wedding-- O Mero balam thanedar, chalave gypsy. You have gypsy right-" Piya said laughing but hissed when Reema pulled her ear.

"Enough of your teasing. Now go take your dii to her room." She told Piya shooing her away. Piya pouted but took Sonali to her room.

"Don't take her seriously Raghav beta. She is very naughty child." Reema said to Raghav in an apologising tone. But Raghav hurriedly replied her," NO no, I didn't take any offence Chachi ji. She's a bright and bubbly girl who makes environment lighter." He completed smiling.

Reema became glad seeing his politeness and maturity.

Next day the event of mehendi and haldi took place with so much joy in both families. The events planned in hurry as the wedding has to be happen after two days of marriage because according to pundit ji there is no Shubh muhurat any soon.

It is the day before marriage and Sangeet evening is going on in Sharma house. Most of the relatives have arrived till now so there is bustle everywhere.

Raghav POV

The Sangeet evening is full of joy and excitement. Seeing my parents enjoying the fullest, I couldn't help but smile. But Sonali's silence and monotonous tenor bothered me.

My thoughts broke when I heard a voice beside me," Where are you lost soon-to-be married man?" Aman, my best friend and colleague questioned me.

" It's nothing. You tell me when are you going to dance?" I asked him. Aman averted his gaze somewhere saying," I wasn't planning to dance but now I think I should try that."

I followed his gaze and saw Piya dancing there smiling and laughing brightly without caring about the world. I couldn't move my gaze from her innocent face.

But soon I chided myself for staring at my soon-to-be wife's sister. How can I even stare at another woman with my finance beside me? This is really shameful.  I couldn't help but feel ashamed.

"Stop staring at her Aman. She is just a kid." I glared at him. Don't get him wrong, he is not a womanizer but sometimes become flirty.

"Come on man. Just because she is your sister-in-law, she's not a kid. She's a whole grown beautiful woman." Aman replied still not diverting his gaze.

I got annoyed, i excused Sonali and dragged him to accompany me to greet our relatives and friends.

Rest of evening went smoothly. After bidding good night to Sharma's, we headed back to our house and decide to take rest for the most awaited day- wedding which is going to take place tomorrow.

I just hope to have a peaceful married life and I could fulfil my responsibility of being a husband to her. I closed my eyes and a face appeared in my mind unintentionally --Piya....
