*Two days, eight hours, 4 minutes*

"That'll be two dollars and fifty cents. Anything else?"
"No, thank you though." I say, handing the money to the cafeteria lady; Mrs. Edna.
I turn to walk back to my table and can't help but notice things. Like the fact that we have lunch at exactly 12:27 p.m. Who does that? But I notice more about the people in my school than anything. I notice the girls who are like me. I don't mean skin tone or hair color, no j mean morally. Girls that wear jeans instead of hooker shorts, T-shirts instead of tanks with little make up, if any, on our faces. I also notice the others; the ones that dress for attention. Tanks and/or shirts that come way to low in the front, shorts that come way to high in the back. All this, even though it's fall and getting colder. But the amount of make up they wear probably keeps them warm in spite of the lack of material on their bodies. I've never understood why girls wear so much make up.

"Hello?! Earth to Qhis!" I here Jessica shout.
"Sorry, I was thinking." I replied. "Why did you call me Qhis?"
"Because I can't ever say your name right." She told me, which is weird because we have been friends for years. You would think she would know how to say my name. "How do you say it again? Qhiskipee? Qhismakay?"
"Qhispikay!" I jump at the sound of this voice coming behind me. It's Luke. "How come I can say it fine and you can't when you have known her way longer than me? One would think I would be the one messing it up!"
"Oh shut up!" Jessica said with a mouth full of food.
"So Qhispikay what are we doing for your birthday?" Like asked as Jessica punched him in the shoulder.
"I mean, I don't know. Are we supposed to be doing something?" Please say yes.
"Of course! You're turning seventeen, why wouldn't we?" Jessica said, well, yelled.
"Exactly. How about Thursday night? We could see a movie or something. There is no school Friday so we don't have to worry about the time." Luke suggested.
"I'm good with that. Qhis?" Jessica asked.
"Sure, why not?" I supposed my parents will allow it. They don't pay enough attention to me to care anyway.
"So it's settled. Thursday night, eight p.m. at the theater." Luke announced.
"Yay!" Jessica shrieked.
"Sounds good!" I say, genuinely excited.
