The warm wind danced through the Konoha Hospital's room. The sunlight caressing the young Uchiha's cheeks, as he was found in deep sleep. As he felt the sun's warmth on him, the six year old one slowly woke up, facing the ceiling. As his eyes opened, flashes of last night's events came to his mind. An immediate sense of dread came to his gut. It couldn't be. His family had to be there, waiting for him. Itachi didn't do it. His family was still alive. And so was she.

But once he took consciousness of his surroundings, he froze. This wasn't his room. He wasn't home. He was at the hospital. With the thought of it, he hissed, now feeling the small wounds his brother left him the previous night. No... it can't be, he thought. He carefully got off of the bed and slightly opened the door, trying not to make a sound. He turned his head, noticing two nurses mumbling in the corner with saddened expressions. He furrowed his eyebrows and tried to listen to their mumbling,

"I still can't believe it. A whole clan— a prestigious one at that— murdered in a single night..." The blonde nurse silently cried as the other looked at a pile of paper in her hands. "It's unbelievably cruel. I pity those two kid, utterly alone in a world like this. I hope they find that one Uchiha and make him pay for what he did," The brunette sighed, "I told the doctors to put the two of them together, but they are in separate rooms, I'm afraid," the blonde one looked at the window and frowned. "Poor ones. So young, them both. In which rooms were they put, Celieli?" The blonde asked, "The boy is in Room 265 and the girl is in Room 260." Celieli sighed, "Come now, we have other patients to care." The brunette walked away, her companion following shortly. Sasuke took that as an opportunity to sneak away and find his friend.

Once finding the door, he slowly opened the door and quickly shut it behind him. In quiet steps, the young raven haired boy made his way to the hospital bed, towards his friend. He stopped beside the bed, looking at the sleeping figure of the young girl as he couldn't help but grimace at the small cuts on her face. He gently, yet shakily grabbed her hand with a tight gripping. He let out a few sobs as he looked at the girl, his eyes clouded by tears. He buried his head on the sheets covering her body, sniffing.

"Sasuke?" A small sound called his name, making his head rise in a quick motion. He could help but feel his lips quivering at the state she was—hurt, but still breathing. "(Name)," He gulped, loosening his grip on her small hand. A silence surrounded them, as the Uchiha children gazed each other. Sasuke carefully hopped up on the bed and made his way next to little (Name), joining her under the covers of the hospital bed. He hid his face on her shoulder, soon feeling her head rest on his own, trying to handle how her body was trembling and hearing her uneven breath against him. The two of them stayed the whole day in that position before someone came in.

"SASUKE, YOU MORON!" Naruto's annoyingly loud voice pierced through his ears, making him get out of his memories. The Uchiha made no effort to shoot a glare upon the blonde boy. "Come on, Kakashi proposed that we join the Exams! You're not backing off, right?" The Uzumaki grinned. Sakura gently, but fiercely punched his arm. "Shut up, Naruto! Of course Sasuke is participating, duh!" Sakura rolled her eyes in annoyance as Naruto yelped, rubbing his arm in slightly pain. "So mean, Sakura-chan...".

Sasuke mentally rolled his eyes at the display of his teammates, silently wishing someone could be beside him instead of them.
