Raptured Souls

Chapter one

I walked up the blurry staircase as l tried not to slip and fall in my ridiculously large ball gown. I had passed this staircase only once before but still did not know where it led.

I walked and walked as distant voices whispered in my ears. I heard a deep growl to my right and instantly turned in fear as l stared at the area in which the sound had come from.

There was nothing except an old painting of an wolf and a vampire sitting together under a tree. The painting seemed odd yet familiar. I squinted my eyes to get a better look at it when everything just went black.

"Adeline!" Screamed someone from outside my dream.

I groaned as l opened my eyes the same moment a person barged into my room. She rushed to my side with a grin on her face as she looked at me with her observing eyes.

"Why did you wake me up Ravana?" I said placing my head back on my soft pillow.

She snorted before grabbing my blanket and pulling it away from me. The cold hit me like a slap to the face as l curled up in a ball on my bed to keep myself warm. Ravana rolled her eyes before grabbing my hands and pulling me up on my feet.

"Come on get up today is a very special day for us" She said in a cheery tone.l stared at her confused.

"What do you mean for us? What's happening?" I asked really confused.

"Omg did you forget. Adeline today is the day we go shopping for our gowns to wear at the ball remeber?" She said in an annoyed tone.

I groaned as l remembered l had agreed to go with her to the stupid ball because apparently she did not want to go with a date so she decided to take her best friend instead how lucky l am.

Before l could say anything she grabbed my hands and dragged me towards my bathroom. She closed the door behind me and left me in there. I sighed as l took my toothbrush and put some toothpaste on it before l started brushing my teeth.

As l brushed l thought about the weird dream l had had again. It wasn't the first time l had a dream like that. It started when l was still very young but the older l got the more clearer the dreams get.

I stared at my reflection in the mirror and frowned at a small pimple that had appeared at the side of my brow. I stripped out of my pj's and entered the shower. I turned on the hot water until it was at the right temperature and started bathing.

I washed my hair with the ocean breeze shampoo l had and loved and washed my body with the rose petal body wash. When l was dome l exited the shower and dried my hair up with a towel before wrapping another towel around my naked body before exiting the bathroom.

I entered my bedroom to see an outfit already laid out for me on my bed by Ravana. It was a pink and white sundress with the back open with only straps forming zigzags covering my back and to top it off a pair of my favourite white sandals.

I smiled at the outfit before putting it on. I went over to my dressing table and sat down. I applied a small amount of makeup to make it look like my natural face and added a bit of gloss on my lips before styling my hair in a simple French braid. I stared st my reflection before smiling at myself and grabbing my phone and Fendi bag before exiting my room.

My parents and l lived in a small city that was filled with lavish places and homes. I entered our kitchen and noticed Ravana sitted at the island with a plate of pancakes infront of her and a glass of orange juice. She smiled at me before tapping the chair next to her. I sat next to her and smiled.
