Aylin

"Come on, you must have cheated" Damien panted, trying to still stand after my indisputable win, but his try was unsuccessful and he just fell on the grass.

"It's not my fault I'm better than you." I said as I sat down drinking some water, barely panting after beating him, again.

"Come, guys. We need to get going if we want to get there before sundown" Selina who was watching the whole fight and was the only one acting mature here, taunted.

"It's only a few hours to get there, we can leave in a couple of hours and still make it in time for dinner." Damian said as he wiped off the sweat from his face, still panting.

"Wanna join us?" he asked and I now noticed he sat on the grass, his face looking like he can't even breathe.

It shouldn't tire him this much to fight considering we practiced every day for the past few years and he should get used to it, yet here we are.

"I would love to join your little swords fight, but someone needs to get everything ready" she answered in a condescending voice.

"Selina's right. Get ready and leave. I do not like being this close to the palace." I said as I got up and started organizing our supplies.

"This deal better be worth it" Damien said still sweating, while I was almost unbothered by the fight.
"It will be" I put my rings back on, one after the other until I finished putting on all 11 of them.

After getting all the bags and things we owned ready which took about half an hour, we each sat on our horses and started the ride.

We got to Viros at the afternoon, which was a couple hours before we usually finish this ride. Maybe it was that this time our horses were better fed and better trained.

We left our horses and bags in the stable and walked inside Laylah's bakery.
It's been a while since we last met, and considering the fact that she is Selina's aunt, and feels like she is ours too, it shouldn't take us this long to come meet her.

Laylah is a beautiful middle aged woman, she has beautiful dark skin and dark curls I always envied. Selina has light skin and hair, which was confusing to me until i found out Laylah is married to Selina's uncle so they aren't related by blood.
She is always very friendly to us, she is like a mother to Selina, which makes us all very close.

"Selina! It is so good to see you again." she came in to hug her and then looked away after leaving the hug a few seconds later.
"And I can see you brought Aylin and Damien. How are you all feeling?" i love to hear her sweet voice. She talks so fast and always with a smile from ear to ear.

She is the most optimist person I have ever met, always smiling and always offering food. She gives us everything she has, acting like a true mother knowing I don't have a family anymore and Damien doesn't talk to his.

"I've missed you, auntie" Damien said with a big smile, coming in to hug her.

"How it that you always look so good, it's like you just can't age." he said with a smirk.
I think Laylah thought he meant it, but Selina and I looked at each other, chuckling. We knew he meant no harm though.

"You are being too sweet." She said, taking the compliment.
"Can I get you anything? I just made cookies, fresh out of the oven."

"Thank you for offering, but we already ate. I was wondering though, if it's okay with you, could we stay for a couple days. We have a meeting tomorrow and we need somewhere to stay." Selina asked with a warm expression and a soft smile.

"What a stupid question, of course you can. I will make sure the beds are made." she said and left the room.

"God, I missed her" I said while looking for the cookies we just a moment ago said we didnt want, taking one and pushing it inside my mouth so Laylah wouldn't see. I don't even know why, but it made Damien and Selina laugh so I was glad. I wiped off the crumbs and went in to help her make the beds.
