The storm has everyone and their mother calling the station tonight and it's driving me crazy.
I was answering calls left and right, then I just stopped and marched over to Sheriff Stilinki's office.
"Six months. Six months of directing traffic, doing courthouse security, serving subpoenas, and today I finished a total organizational overhaul of evidence lock-up. Now I'm stuck behind the front desk while there's downed power-lines, a jackknifed tractor-trailer and reports of gunshots downtown. I don't know what I did to lose your trust, but you need every available deputy out there."
He looks at me and sighs.
"Okay, I got something for you." He hands me a paper and I look it over.
"A noise complaint?"
"Yeah. Somebody would make a noise. Somebody else complained about it. Check it out."
I did ask to go out and help, I just didn't think I would be doing something so simple as a noise complaint...
I was in front of the house about fifteen minutes later and everything on the street was quiet.
I look up at the old Miller house and see that none of the lights were on.
"Here goes nothing."
I walk up to the front door and knock but the door slowly opens.
I shine my flashlight ahead and see that everything looks normal. But there was something bothering me.
Like why was the door unlocked and if there was a noise complaint, why was it so quiet, now?
"Hello?" I call out as I walk further in the semi-lite house.
"This is the Beacon County Sheriff's department." I get no answer but I do hear something in the distance.
I take out my gun and hear the noise again, and it was coming from the basement.
With my gun and flashlight up I walk down the steps and listen out for anything.
I hear a thud noise and I turn but nothing was there.
"Hello?" I call out.
"Hello?" I call out again.
I then hear something drip.
Water, maybe?
I walk further down the basement and shine my light in a corner of the room.
I see a dismembered hand on the floor and jump back.
"Holy sh-"
I hear another thud and shine my light towards a metal door.
"Hello?"
The thud turns into banging and I hear someone scream.
"Hey! Hey, can you hear me?"
The banging gets worst and I run up to the door.
"Okay, okay, I'm going to get you out of there. I'm coming right back. Just hang on."
I run out of the house and to my car to get something that will knock the door down.
I get a door ram and came back down to the metal door in the basement.
"I'm here, I'm here! Back up if you can!" I yell.
I get ready and use all of my force to get the door down.
I ram the door open and hear someone crying.
