CHAPTER TWO
I could not sleep all night because of the excitement I have in my head, I have never been out of the house so far away alone, but I am going for college. I was so excited that the whole night I kept thinking about how will life be there and friends and everything. In the morning my parents and my brother dropped me to the station and I boarded the train, it was a very emotional moment for me and my parents. My mom cried when I boarded the train, I also cried for a few minutes because I have never left them, but you know life goes on. This train journey is of twenty-four hours, I don't know what am I going to do that much time.
Few stations passed and my phone rang up, it's a stupid guy I hate from school, I picked up the call and he goes "hey, I am at the next station, give me your coach number", I am shocked why does he have be everywhere I go I hate this guy, but still can't help but telling him because he ain't going anywhere if I don't tell him so I tell him my coach number , and in a few minutes he comes with a huge bag in his hands and my heart stops for a second , is he travelling with me ?, no this can't happen I can't bear him more than a minute, all of these thoughts were rushing on my head when he hands me the bag and says "this is for you, I bought you some snacks for the journey, I thought maybe you would need it", I sighed a bit thank god he is not travelling with me and then I thanked him for the snacks , but after that what happened was a bit of a shock for me, he hugged me in front of the other passengers and gave a quick peck on the cheeks. I jumped away and said "excuse me , stay away from me , thankyou for this but keep the distance man" he seemed a bit off with what I said but still he says" I will miss you maybe we can meet sometime after you return" , "I'll see about that" I said , with that he jumps out of the train and the train starts to move. I sigh out of relaxation and then get back to my seat, I have a guy sitting in the opposite seat, who just couldn't stop smiling since the guy climbed to the train to give me snacks I don't get it why he is smiling, but still I don't bother asking him.
Hours pass by and finally its almost near to Pune when I wake up in the morning, I see the guy opposite to me is packing his things up to which I realize that I have to do the same thing. I get up and pack my things and sit down with a pack of biscuits from my snack bag. I was watching outside the window when the guy opposite to me says "are you from Pune?" , I look at him he is not much older than me maybe one or two years but beard in his face make him look a bit older than his age, he has got a fit physique and a good height which I noticed last night when he was doing something with his luggage, he doesn't look good , decent and sweet. Oh I forgot he asked me something, then I say "no, I don't live here I have my college over here" , to which he seemed pretty impressed then after a almost ten seconds he says, "which college and what course?, actually I am also about get admission over here", oh so he is a student but doesn't seem like one. "Symbiosis, I am doing BCOM form there which college are you planning to get admission in in?", I said to which he replied "ISB&M, have you heard about it?", "no actually I haven't heard about it", "oh it's a management college you must not know about it", "yeah I don't actually" then there is a moment of silence when he again starts the conversation "by the way which area do you stay in Pune?" oh so now he wants to know where I live , hmm pretty forward "I live in SB Road basically the heart of the city", "nice must be very convenient for you", "yeah it has been very easy to get to know the city". While we were conversing, we didn't realize that we are almost at the station and we need to leave. So, I get up and take my bags pretty stupid of me to pack like six bags to travel alone how fucking stupid. I somehow managed to get off the train by taking help of a gentleman, when I am out of the train figuring out the luggage situation the guy from the train comes to me and says, "excuse me, don't mind but do you know the route to first platform?", "yeah its towards the right from the upper bridge, I am also going that way", he looked relieved and said, "great let's go together than", for a moment I thought this might me a nice idea and I said, "yes, sure but just let me figure out how to carry six bags there", he looked at all of my bags and smiled and then said, "here, let me help you with these " I didn't even get the time to stop him when he took two of my bags in hand and put on in his shoulder along with his rucksack that he was carrying, then I said "you really don't have to do this I'll manage my luggage its not a problem", "its fine you're also helping me so its both ways don't worry", he smiled at me. We got out of the station and he put all my luggage down "thankyou so much for this" I said. he replied "and thankyou to you to for getting me out, now I have to figure out a way to get to the address I have been provided", "where are you going by the way, maybe I can help you getting a cab or something" I said because I was feeling very sad that he carried all of my luggage. He said "yes, it would be great", then he showed me the address it was far away but my place was in his route so then he offered me to go with him if I don't mind and I said yes that I could go with him. I have never really interacted to a complete stranger that much and that to being alone but for some reason I think he is a great person of course because he carried my luggage duh! Anyways I booked a cab and put his destination and mine on it and the cab came he put all my luggage and his own too, that was sweet of him to do that. After we got in to the cab I realized I didn't even asked his name for once so I gathered courage to ask him, "by the way I completely forgot your name, what was it ?", he also got shocked as if he told me and I don't remember it, but instead he said, "that is because I never introduced to you " he chuckles slightly, and I say," really, we don't even know names and we are in a cab together, that's huge" , we both laughed a little then he said " Shubh, its Shubh, nice too meet you, and now you have a formal introduction", I smiled and replied," Preeti, its's Preeti and nice too meet you too Shubh". In the next few moments we exchanged numbers and social media accounts and I realized that I m almost near my place. I got off the cab and the driver helps with the luggage while I ask Shubh how do I pay him for the cab ride to which he said," there is no need of it you were their only for 5 minutes" , "oh, you must be very rich, but I m still going to pay you, I'll transfer you online", and tried to argue but I already sent him the money, then he got off the cab and forwarded his hand I do the same and he says, "it was really nice meeting and I hope we meet sometime again if possible", "yeah, sure no problem", "okay then bye take care "he said , and I don't know my inner human just woke up and I said, " call me when you reach your place, I hope you don't get lost", the cab starts to move and he said, "yeah , bye".
I went upstairs and see my roommate/ best friend making breakfast for me, he hops when she sees me, she ran towards me and hugged me tightly I hugged her more tightly. Then she goes, "god, I missed you and guess what that missing did to me I thought why not make a welcome breakfast for you", I saw the pan and there was beautifully toasted bread and butter with jam, my favorite kind. I took the bread sandwich in my hands and had my first bite and oh my god, the bread sandwich has never tasted better than it before. Maybe I was hungry but it was heavenly. I told her thanks for the breakfast and she said she had planned few things for today and told me to take rest for sometime and get ready by evening. A few minutes later my phone rang up and it was Shubh, i got shocked why is he calling now , i picked the call and he said "Hey! Guess what i reached at the right place all thanks to you" then i remembered that i had asked him to call me after he reaches and i let out a sigh of relief then said "That's great, guess i earned a good deed for today" I joked and he chukled a little and asked "did you get freshen up?" And i realised I haven't done that so i said "was just about to do that" then he said "okay then i'll let you rest ,thanks again for the help and maybe we'll see around" i said "yeah, not worries and maybe we'll see around" and we hungup.
I freshen up quick and took a deep sound sleep for a few hours when my phone rang and it was Ana , "hey! Get up dude and get ready I am coming in ten minutes" I put the phone down and saw the time it was around six in the evening and I realized I slept way too much. I got up and pulled down my luggage which had clothes in it and took out a pair of denim shorts and a crop t-shirt and got ready with minimal makeup on. Then again I get call from my Ana and she came downstairs so I locked the dorm room behind me and went downstairs.
