After an intense basketball practice that left the gym echoing with the sounds of dribbling and cheering, Caitlin and Kate retreated to a quiet corner, calming down from the adrenaline rush of the game. Caitlin leaned against the cool brick wall, her chest rising and falling with each deep breath, while Kate sprawled out on a nearby bench, fanning herself with a water bottle.
"Jesus fucking christ" Caitlin chuckled, wiping sweat from her brow with the back of her hand.
Kate nodded tiredly "I'm never playing basketball again" she groaned, as Caitlin laughed at the comment.
"I might have to rethink my career choice too. Hey can you pass me my phone? I need to get back to a few people before they kill me"
Kate stretched her arms, grabbing Caitlins phone that was resting on the bench beside her and handing it to the brunette.
Caitlin grabbed her phone, unlocking the phone quickly. As she scrolled through her notifications, Kate grabbed her phone and started scrolling through tiktok, trying to pass the time. As she landed on a specific video, her eyes widened and a grin spread across her face,
"Cait! You've got to see this," Kate exclaimed, holding her phone out eagerly for Caitlin to see.
Surprised by her friends sudden energy and enthusiasms, Caitlin looked up, as she was curious to see what Kate was talking about "What is it?".
With a mischievous grin, Kate tapped play on the video, and Caitlin's eyes widened in disbelief as she recognized Aurora De Luca's face on the screen, talking about Caitlin.
"No fucking way" Caitlin gasped in disbelief, her heart racing with a mixture of shock and excitement.
Kate beamed, grinning at her teammates reaction "Told you! Aurora De Luca herself is giving you a shoutout. To think that last night you were freaking out watching her sing" she said laughing.
Caitlin slapped the girl playfully on her arm, a mixture of amusement and embarrassment colouring her features. "Oh shut up I was not freaking out:
Kate continued with a playful tone "Come on, Cait. We all know about your little crush on Aurora. And now she's not just praising your game, but she's publicly said she has a crush on you. Wow did you manifest her or something?"
Caitlin's cheeks flushed crimson, a mix of embarrassment and exhilaration washing over her.
"Oh yeah I totally manifested her, I've been hiding crystals in my bra" Caitlin's tone dripped in sarcasm, as hard as she tried to hide it she couldn't hide the feeling of excitement and nervousness she had.
"This is insane. I can't believe she mentioned me." Caitlin breathily while chuckling a bit.
Kate smirked, extremely entertained by Caitlin's reaction. "Who knew your long term celebrity crush would actually like you back?"
Caitlin shook her head while laughing, still in shock that Aurora had mentioned her let alone talked about her like that. Silence quickly fell over the corner that Caitlin and Kate were sitting in, both of them still thinking about the video they had watched.
"You think she'll come to one of our games" asked Caitlin looking at Kate with a glint of hope in her eyes, breaking the silence.
"Why do you wanna impress her with your long range shooting?" Grinned Kate, "It's gonna be tough getting the ball in if you're only looking at her Cait"
"Oh shut up" responded Caitlin, throwing her water bottle at Kate to get her to shut up.
"You are disgustingly down bad"
