The soft glow of streetlights filtered through the windows of her penthouse apartment, Katy found herself winding down for the evening. She slipped into her comfiest pajamas, her hair falling in loose waves around her shoulders as she settled onto her soft mattress.
With a sigh, she reached for her phone, the screen illuminating her face with a soft blue light. As she scrolled through her phone, a notification popped up, the new message caught her eye—an unknown number.
Curiosity piqued, Katy hesitated for a moment knowing it's Reno, before tapping on the message.
"Hey, it's Reno from the cafe. Hope I'm not intruding! Just wanted to say it was great meeting you today. Would love to continue our conversation. Maybe over a cup of coffee again?"
A smile spread across Katy's face as she read the message, a rush of excitement coursing through her veins. She quickly typed out a reply, her fingers dancing over the screen.
"Hey, Reno! Not intruding at all. I had a great time too! Coffee sounds perfect. How about tomorrow afternoon? Same place?"
She hit send before she could second-guess herself, her heart racing with anticipation. Within moments, a reply came through, and Katy couldn't help but grin as she read his message.
"Tomorrow sounds perfect! Can't wait. See you then, Katy the artist ;) !"
With a satisfied sigh, Katy set her phone down on her nightstand table, her mind buzzing with excitement. She couldn't believe that just a few hours ago, she had been a stranger to Reno, and now they were planning to meet again.
As she curled up in her bed, the city's lights painting patterns on the walls around her, something she was familiar with. Katy couldn't shake the feeling of anticipation that filled her. She had a feeling that tomorrow was going to be the start of something special.
And as she drifted off to sleep, her phone lying forgotten on the table beside her, Katy couldn't help but dream of the possibilities that lay ahead.

The next day opened bright and sunny, Katy rolling over in her bed looking at the time which was almost afternoon. She got up quick and made her way to her closet, deciding what to wear, she skims through the hangers one by one. Sweaters to formal dresses. 'It's a date right?' she thought to herself, lowering the dress from her neck. Turning away from the mirror, she spots her makeup tray, should she?
She was never the type to go heavy on the makeup, which she doesn't mind it.
She decided to stick with the long sleeve floral dress, touching up a few curls and spots. She took one last look in the mirror, and grabbed her bag, took her step outside her door.
Katy made her way back to the cafe where she had met Reno, her heart fluttering with excitement.
As she stepped inside, the familiar scent of freshly brewed coffee enveloped her, and she couldn't help but smile as she scanned the room for a familiar face, hoping she will find it.
And there he was—Reno, sitting at their usual table with a smile that lit up the room. As their eyes met, Katy felt a rush of warmth spread through her, and she knew that this was only the beginning of their story.
As she approached, her heart skipped a beat, anticipation coursing through her veins.
But before she could reach the table, Reno rose from his seat, a gentlemanly gesture that caught Katy off guard. With a sweep of his hand, he pulled out the chair for her, his eyes with a tad of mischief.
"Allow me," he said with a charming smile, gesturing for her to take a seat.
Katy's cheeks flushed with surprise and delight as she gratefully accepted his offer. She couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement at Reno's chivalrous gesture, a rare and unexpected treat in a world where such acts of kindness were often overlooked.
