That was the only thing I had left of my mother. She loved me, I knew it, even though she abused me I know deep down inside she was a good person and was only stressed because of my father's death. Now my father, he was a different story, I would rather of not had a father, (while I had him), then have one at all. My "father" not only was drunk whenever I actually saw him, but abused me a lot more then my mother. I hope that I will never end up like him, he had a hard past and only married my mother because she was pregnant with me and felt "bad."
*Caleb is now 15*
Now, I was living in an abandoned house and hadn't been able to go to Katrina because she texted me a message, three years ago:
"Don't talk to me, ever again, either. I hope you're happy, you'll never be the man your father was, that's not a compliment to either of you. Stay away from me, Caleb Kings. I know that's what you want too...."
I texted her back anyway:
"Why? What did I do?"

I hate those words, read. They either mean that's the last thing you'll ever see of them and the last thing they said to you is the last you'll ever hear of them, they don't want to reply right now or that you sent a freakishly long text and they're reading it. For my case, it was the first one. In a few days, it would be Katrina's 14th birthday and I was depressed. Yet, I kept on running because the police would want me to go to foster parents and so now I stood at my doorstep and got my key out, unlocked the door, grabbed everything I needed, including my mom's cash that she hid in the attic, and fled out the door. I noticed a security camera and now I knew I was really on the run so I threw a basketball on it and broke it. Not the smartest thing I've ever done since the ball came back and hit me in the head. Then I used some of the $10,000 dollars my mom had hidden to take a train back to the abandoned house in Oakville I was staying at. Even after the trip, I had enough money to attend dream high school and if I did well in it, I could go to my ultimate dream college! Though I would have to work extra hard for a scholarship, maybe I could win back Katrina's heart.-Katrina's POV-
*Katrina is 13, almost 14*
Soon, it would be my birthday and it definitely wouldn't ever be the same without Caleb. Luckily, my new BEST FRIENDS would be attending my PARTY! That's right, two things I haven't said in a while; party and best friends! The mean girls split up and now Serena, Sky, Starr and Gracie were my new best friends! I am so excited for my birthday party! Remember when I wore the same outfit as Phoebe? That wasn't the end of my revenge on her, my new friends and I put glue all over her locker and she stuck to it while leaning her back on it. Her being ignorant, she tried pushing herself off and the rest of her stuck too. Everyone took pictures and videos and she was humiliated, now she knows how I felt everyday she and her minions bullied me. Revenge is sweet. Right?-Caleb's POV-
I sighed and paced back and forth. I looked around, man I missed Oakville.
I unpacked my stuff; I was organized. I pulled out a photo of Katrina, and smiled then hugged it. I then checked Facebook. What the hell? Gracie posted:
"Phoebe is a stupid jerk! She deserves to be in a STICKY SITUATION hahaha!"
I clicked the video. "Stop! Stop filming and help me!" Phoebe yelled.
Phoebe was glued to a locker, I saw a girl walk up to her along with some of Phoebe's minions. The girl chuckled, "Wow, Phoebe! Looks like you're in a sticky situation huh?" She asked and began to giggle. "Katrina! You did this!" and then the recording stopped. I put my phone away, shocked. Katrina was different now... I pulled my laptop out and checked my email, I have received 4 emails. I opened my main inbox:
From: K4tr1n4wOOdg1rlxOxO. Katrina sent me an email! I opened it.
"Contact me again, I tell everyone about the Phoebe thing."
I closed my laptop instantly. She wouldn't dare! Katrina had changed SO MUCH. I sighed and went on kik. I had gotten a message from Phoebe, I opened it:
"I'm sorry I ever hurt you Caleb, but what you did to me, that was so mean..."
The 'Phoebe thing' was something I did in grade three. I was so mad at Phoebe, so I had gathered gross raw meat, along with the blood, and dumped it on her. She was a loser at school. Nobody ever spoke to her again that is until she started acting like a fashionista. Sassy as hell. And that's when it hit me... I need to return to Oakville. Because that's where Katrina is. And possibly, just maybe, anonymous, the person who threatened my mother. If I'm next, I need to be ready...*Current Day*
-Katrina's POV-
There in the front of the ambulance sat a tall man who had a cloth on his mouth but his hands were on the wheel. Next to him in the passenger seat was a small track phone! Anonymous then laughed and hung up as Bryson climbs up to take the cloth out of the driver's mouth so he could speak. "Thank you, oh my goodness," said the man. We arrived at the hospital where Caleb would be treated for his wound. "Katrina, what happens now?" Sky looked up at me with worried eyes. This is all my fault, anonymous is clearly after me and now he or she or whatever brought my friends into this mess. Caleb started gasping, "K-Katrina I think I know who may be part of this situation and it's my fault for not telling you all this before. It happened when my mother died..." We all stared at him waiting for him to go on. "When my mother passed away in the car accident, there was a note that said something about me being next." This is huge! Maybe it isn't all my fault... All I can think of right now is why someone would want revenge on my mother and it may have to do with the fact that she had taken out loans from many people." That makes sense, someone doing it all because of money, people are cruel. "I remember one family that my mother took the most money from, the Clearsons." What a peculiar last name, it almost seems to ring a bell somewhere in my head! "Wait!" Starr yelled, "That's my last name!"---------------------
