"And here we have a husband and wife sleeping together on a half bare bed," Phil said as he rolled a camera pointing at us. My heavy eyelids shot open at the sound of Phil's voice, and the first thing I saw my half awake expression reflecting off of a polished camera lens. I backed up into Dan who was still fast asleep.
"Phil!" I gasped, throwing what little blanket I had over my head as a makeshift shield. "Are you recording us?! Stop!" Phil laughed and slipped a cap over the lens.
"Sorry, you guys just looked really cute. I thought you might want to see what you looked like together later." Phil apologized, feeling slightly abashed at what he did.
"You won't post it, right?"
"Promise." We both shared a small smile, and right at that moment Dan stirred slightly. Then rolled over onto his other side. He mumbled something and his eyebrows knit together. His face looked like he was frustrated or in anguish.
"Is he alright?" Phil asked. I shook his shoulder a little, but he groaned and his eyelids squeezed together tightly.
"I dunno, he must be having a bad dream. What time is it, anyway?"
"10 'til 2." He replied. My half lidded eyes widened.
"It's almost 2 P.M.? We slept passed noon?"
Dan's groans interrupted our conversation and grew louder as he tossed over onto his other side again to face us. I nudged his shoulder again to no avail.
"Does this happen often?" I asked Phil as he toyed with the camera he was using earlier.
"It's happened a few times before, but it only rarely occurs. It's been a while since he's last been like this." I gazed down at Dan's restless figure and frowned. Poor guy. I lied back down with him and burrowed myself into his chest. His arms immediately enveloped me in a tight embrace. It actually kind of hurt a little on how securely he held me. "So how long have you two been dating?" Phil spoke as Dan's arms writhed around me, trying to find a comfortable way to hold my body. My face began to bloom again.
"We aren't dating..."
"Are you sure?" He motioned a thin finger at the two of us and how we were situated.
"Shut up..." I tried conceal my uncontrollable blush.
"Ah, okay, but you guys would be incredibly adorable together."
"Literally shut your face Phil." I threw a punch at him, although we both knew it wouldn't reach him since he sat five feet away. Dan finally managed to articulate words with meaning.
"Yeah, Phil, shut yer face..." He muttered, his eyes still shut. I smiled.
"Good morning, Danny!" I greeted.
"Don't call me that. Ever." One eyelid flung opened so he could look me in the eyes while sternly saying that.
"Okay okay, but get up you loser, it's almost 2."
"I'll sleep for the entire day, I don't give a fuck." Dan flopped onto his back and let himself sink into the mattress.
"Actually, both of you guys are going to have to get up. I've got news for the two of you." My attention diverted from Dan to Phil.
"News?"
"Yes, important news, at that."
"Just tell us now, then."
"I can't, I have to show it to you." Dan whined.
"But I don't want to get up. I just wanna sleep all day and curl up with (y/n)."
"But this is really important, c'mon guys." Phil pleaded. Since Dan wasn't going to go anywhere, I stood up.
"Alright then, Phil, show me what ya got!"
"No, (y/n), stay in bed with meee." Dan moaned.
"Let's go, (y/n)," Phil led me out of the room into the lounge. Dan quickly got lonely with no one there in the room, and followed me and Phil to the Den. There wasn't anything new in there but a computer that sat on the coffee table. Phil sat on the sofa and pulled the computer onto his lap, opening up a tab, "this is what you guys need to see," He scrolled through a friendly looking website that advertised photos of beautiful looking lofts and apartments, "I think I finally found some places for us to move."
We both scooted closer to Phil to gaze upon the array of photos publicized on the site.
"These look way too nice to afford..." Dan murmured.
"They look like it, but the prices are actually very reasonable. I also managed to get us a small discount. A friend of mine has a dad who owns and rents out these things to people all the time. He's swimming in cash, so they thought that giving us some slack on the monthly payment wouldn't hurt." Phil explained to us as me and Dan surveyed the pictures.
"This is... Great.." I said.
"Isn't it? We should start packing as soon as possible. I actually already started, so I'll be ready whenever you guys are." Phil got up and left, probably to go touch up his packing and make sure he had everything he'll want or need."
"How about it?" I turned to Dan, "do you like it? Do you wanna start packing right now?" Dan faced me with tired eyes but a warm smile.
"I love it. Let's go." He leaned over and placed his lips on my forehead.
"Sounds good."

"Is this yours?" I held up a small trinket that took on the shape of a symbol. Probably from a video game of some sort that I wasn't aware of.
"Yep." I tossed it over and he caught it one handed, tossing it into a duffle bag. We both sorted our things based on bag. Duffle bags carried miscellaneous objects while suitcases held clothes and necessities. Computer bags held computers, obviously, and the extra pockets carried chargers and disks. Lots of the important stuff like the computers and gaming systems were stolen, so we had to invest money to purchase new ones.
"Do you think we are missing anything?" He scanned the room that had been stripped of everything.
"Nah, I don't think so."
All of us wandered the house and checked between every crack and cranny to make sure that everything loose was gathered. But after checking three times in every spot and being very thorough we all agreed that we had everything.
"Did you already rent us a place?"
"Yeah," Phil started, "It's quite a ways from here. Not too far, but far enough to get away from our harassers and have a fresh start. We've lived here for a while, anyway." Phil heaved all of his bags over his shoulders and gripped the handles to his suitcases, then left the apartment. I followed, but stopped when I noticed that Dan wasn't behind me. I halted at the threshold to see Dan standing in the lounge, gazing blankly at the walls.
"What are you doing?" I put my things down.
"I'm not sure... I've lived her for a while, I became somewhat independent here. This place was my home. I find it weird to just walk right out without turning back. I don't get how Phil can do it so easily..." Dan had dropped his bags. I frowned, giving Dan a small hug from behind.
"I understand, it's not easy leaving a place you once called home. It was very hard for me to move out away from my family, but I knew it was best for me. The longer you hold on, the harder it will be to let go. So try not to think about it, I know it's hard, but just close your eyes, think about how great the new place will be. Think about the new memories you'll make there. And according to the pictures, the flat looks pretty similar to the one here." I tried to comfort him, poking my head out from under his arm to look up at him. He slung his arm around my shoulder and put his other hand over my arms wrapped around his torso.
"..Yeah, you're right. It can't be that bad. It's for the best." And on that note we gathered our things and marched out the door, confident in our decision.
It is for the best, right?
Notes: I'm getting lazy and running out of ideas and things are moving slowly so I might add a lemon later idk. Would you guys even want that or should I just keep this light and fluffy?
