CH 4: KRITIKA GAINED HER CONSCIOUSNESS..!

AUTHOR'S POV

“Either she is purely innocent or dangerously dextrous” Ishaan said.

“Let’s hope she is the former one” Mr Ahuja said.

“Hriday do a thorough background check on her and I want all reports on her before tomorrow morning” Ishaan ordered Hriday. They all sat in silence for some time.

After accompanying Ishaan for sometime, Mr Ahuja along with Hriday and Karan made their exit from the hospital.

After 5 hours in the OT, Rehaan came out and started reporting Ishaan about Kritika’s condition.

“Captain, she is severely injured in her head. There is a mild concussion in her head. She should avoid stressful environment or her recovery will be delayed. There was no internal injury but there is heavy blood loss. Since her immune system is very strong, she is responding positively to our treatment. But still we can not conclude anything until she gains consciousness. She’ll be in the ICU for the next 24 hours”

“I see….any special care?!” Ishaan asked in his professional tone.

“Umm….there's nothing for now….but it'll be really helpful if you get her family here as soon as possible” Rehaan said.

“I'll try” came Ishaan’s reply.

“By the way….let me do the dressing of your hand otherwise you'll be infected” Rehaan said taking Ishaan's hand and both of them sat on the nearest bench. Rehaan brought the first aid box and taking Ishaan's hand in his lap, he started dressing.

“What's the story?!” Rehaan asked.

Ishaan was taken aback by the sudden question but then he composed himself and started replying “Today morning there was a murder in her company…. I went there to investigate the case…..there I met her, Kritika….as she is the CEO of the company so I thought of interrogating her…..she was going to hospital when I offered to interrogate her on the way as I found her suspicious…..that's when her car's brake failed and a truck hit her and now she's in this condition.”

“Umm…I see….but why did you find her suspicious….I mean she looks so innocent!” Rehaan said.

“How can she stay calm and composed when there's a murder in her company…..isn't it suspicious” Ishaan replied clearing his confusion.

“Captain, that's why she's the CEO…..haven't you seen dad….how he stays calm and composed even in the worst situation and doesn't show any emotion in his face” Rehaan said putting down his opinion.

“You have a point, Dr Malhotra” Ishaan said in a slightly teasing tone.

“I know I'm intelligent, Mr Malhotra” Rehaan answered back in the same mocking tone.

“It's 9 pm at night….when you're going home?!” Ishaan asked Rehaan to change the topic.

“My shift is until 8 am in the morning till tomorrow….so I'll stay here tonight” Rehaan replied.

“Okay…just do me a favor….take care of her….I'll come before your shift ends” Ishaan said.

“Okay Captain!” Rehaan replied and Ishaan went to his apartment.

Next Day…

Kritika felt a bang on her head. Her head was aching like hell. She couldn't process anything going on around her. Then she started to remember about the previous day. Her thoughts were disturbed by a sudden voice.

“Good morning Kritika!” Rehaan said entering the ward with two nurses.

“Good morning Doctor!” Kritika replied.

“How're you feeling now?” Rehaan asked.
