Chp-13: Lost

Alexa searched the entire house, but she failed to find Cady. Small beads of sweat began to roll down her forehead. She mumbled angrily, "I told her not to go anywhere!". She heard the doorbell ring, she rushed downstairs with hopes to see Cady standing there. When she opened the door, she found a man in a black coat and the symbol of the devil in red. This was the sign she feared the most. Alexa was trembling and before she could slam the door shut, the man's hand stopped her from doing so. The man chuckled and said, "Do as I say. Don't act over-smart, okay?" The man entered forcefully and pushed Alexa sideways. He sat down on the couch and said, "This is a nice house you've got here!" Alexa was burning with rage. She wanted to scream and shout but she was helpless. The man ordered, "Don't you have some manners? You should bring water for your guests! Bring it quickly!" she frowned and walked towards the kitchen. While filling a glass of water for the man, she was thinking of all the possible ways to kill him or at least doze him off to sleep. The man shouted, "Don't act over-smart!" hearing his tone, Alexa flinched and walked out of the kitchen. She gave him water and asked in a low tone, "What do you want?" The man kept the glass down and chuckled, he sighed and said, "Your cousin is with us...she is quite stubborn, I am here to take you to the Imaginarium and you have to convince your sweet little cousin to give her powers to master Taurus! She'll listen to you, you two are pretty close, right?" After hearing all this, Alexa began to feel drowsy, the fact that Cady, who doesn't know about the lifestyle of the Imaginarium is stuck there, made her feel even sicker. Alexa said stammering, "I'll come. I-I'll come with yo-you...just don't harm her, please, I am begging you! Please." Alexa was whimpering, she was frightened and was now thinking of plans of how to bring Cady back and keep her away from all this. Alexa asked, "What's your name?", the man stood up and answered, "Shifter." Interesting...very interesting name, Alexa thought. Shifter smirked and grabbed Alexa's arm. She tried to free herself from his grip, but she saw Cady holding her arm. She had that innocent look in her eyes and said pleadingly, "Please. Please come with me. Save me, please." Alexa was very close to Cady, she would do anything to save her. Alexa nodded and took Cady's hand. She found herself in a forest. It was nighttime, the owls were hooting, and many creatures were hiding behind the bushes and their glowing eyes were visible. This made Alexa shudder. She looked around and found Shifter standing right next to her. He said, "Luminafare!" and a ball filled with light appeared. Suddenly, they heard the chittering of an animal and Alexa turned and found Fuzzball sitting behind her. She realized that Fuzzball might have been right next to her, so she came here too.Shifter shuddered and Alexa took Fuzzball in her hands. She then shouted, "Where is Cady!?" Shifter growled, "Quiet! You'll attract blood-thirsty creatures, and then they'll eat you up!" Alexa stood up and said angrily but in a low tone, "What did you do?" to this, Shifter chuckled and moved towards her, lifted her chin and said mockingly, "You didn't get the meaning of my name? Shifter! I can take any person's form and act like them!" Alexa was confused, she moved back and said, "Don't you dare touch me! And, taking the form of people and behaving like them is the work of Aurelia, right?" Shifter nodded, he replied, "One person couldn't handle everything, right? And Aurelia is getting quite old now...so I am, sort of, her co-worker!" Alexa was scared, she was shivering and with every second her grip on Fuzzball became even tighter. Shifter looked at her with pity and said calmly, "Listen, we are in the Dark Forest. I'll take you to Taurus safely and you'll get everything, food, water, anything during our journey, okay? When we reach Midnight's Castle, it is Taurus's castle, just give him anything her asks for, okay? Otherwise, he'll kill you. You seem like a good kid, so I'll take care of you...I know you are mad at me, but I had no other option." Alexa felt a sense of comfort, she thought that Shifter was a good man, but she didn't make more opinions. The Dark Forest was very big, she felt lost. Alexa looked at the ball of light and was fascinated by the word 'Luminafare'. She mumbled it, but nothing happened, this made her frown. Shifter took a deep breath and said, "Let's begin our journey!" Alexa was scared, she felt very lost, with no hope of getting out of there alive and if she did, then Taurus wouldn't leave her. She sighed and then they began their journey through the freighting and creepy Dark Forest.
