Lyra Black

Lyra Castopia Black the first was born August 3 at 1:55 a.m. in the year 1956 to Walburga and Orion Black.

At a young age she was introduced to family dianmics because her parents longed for a son. She longed for them to realize that she was just enough even as a girl.

She was highly intelligent and hoped that when she was given her title befited her as the only daughter and first born child to Count Orion Black.

She read very carefully the different types of inheritances in her family archives. It was very confusing, but she thought she understood it well enough.

Although she might not of. Her family's way of the system of inheritance was rather complicated. First you were a duke or duchess, then a count or Countess, an heir or heiress, and finally a Lady or Lord.

But there were a few achievements you need for each title. Unless you stopped after count, those requirements weren't really requirements. If you were a member of house black you would fit those requirements easily enough. It was mainly one requirement: don't be an out cast.

To be a duchess of House Black you need to know two languages and be related by blood.

A countess needs to know 4 languages, basic ballet, demonstrate a basic understanding of a magical subject, and meet the requirements of the Duchess status.

An Heiress needs to know 6 languages, have basic knowledge on 2 forms of dance, play an instrument, demonstrate an understanding in a magical subject , and prove your ability to support your house. Along with meeting a Countess status.

Lyra was named Countess as she knew French, English, Russian, Latin, and Spanish. Along with Ballet, Piano, and is a few days away from a complete knowledge of Transfiguration

With all the things Lyra knew she also knew that if she was lucky she would be able to one day inherit the Black family status, wealth, and title.

The Noble and Most Anchient house Black follows the traditional standing of the world: Boy heirs inherited before girl heirs, parents die then the children take over.

But for the first time in centuries the house Black demonstrates a rare issue: they had no heir. Orion Black never learned more than 4 languages, and although he was named a count, never studied politics. In summary he was never named an Heir.

As such, the next Heir proclaimed would be the Heir Apparent until another Heir was named. And as no promising prospects have come through. This could be an issue.

As of now they had 4 possible prospects.

Duke Cygnus Black, who may not ever fulfill requirements.

Duchess Bellatrix Black, older than Lyra but is a promising subject.

Duchess Andromeda Black, who was the same age as Lyra but no closer than Narcissa.

Duchess Narcissa Black, who was only 5 but quite smart, and very pretty.

Count Orion Black, who is quite dumb and doesn't realize the gravity of the situation.

Countess Lyra, who will likely complete the journy and become the Heiress aparent in a matter of months.

Lyra was presented a Rare opportunity as a child: become Heiress, become Lady, become the only girl in history to accomplish such a thing.

When she heard this being discussed between family members at the age of only 3 she began studying.

Now at the age of 6, 3 years later she is closer than any Black currently alive.

She was taught French as a child and quickly followed suit with Latin, so she was already qualified as Duchess. She saw the window and she took it.
