The summer sun was shining bright and the humidity was suffocating. It was currently so hot in Colorado that you couldn't even get out of a cold shower without your hair sticking to the frame of your face and back of your neck. Almost impossible to do anything without breaking a sweat.

Normally Ciara would lock herself in her bedroom in some short shorts and a tank top with the air conditioning on full blast but today was different than just a normal summer day. Today is the day Jackie and her mom come home. After the funeral, Marina offered to stay back and help Jackie finish packing up a bit and so that she wouldn't have to fly out to Colorado all by herself.

Cici was at the Walters early in the morning before most of the Walter family was even awake. She wanted everything to be nice and perfect for Jackie's arrival. Or at least as perfect as it could be. Knowing the chaos that goes on in a normal day in the ranch house there's only so much she can control.

When she walked into the Walter home she was met with the smell of what could only be a delicious breakfast, which excited her but the noise coming from the kitchen sort of sounded unflattering.

A flustered Katherine made her way around the kitchen trying to clean up the mess from the supplies her eldest son used to make breakfast.

"Morning." The brunette girl greeted the few members of the family that were spread throughout the kitchen and dining area.

It was no surprise that she didn't get a full attentive greeting in return from everyone. Just Danny, who sat at the table enjoying his French toast and juice with his headphones on most likely listening to the narration of a play or musical. He was a morning person.

The teenager took a seat at the island and reached across to grab a piece of egg from the plate full of scrambled eggs set right in the middle. She wasn't a big egg fan but the bacon was still being cooked and the only Walter sister was in the process of helping her older brother make more French toast for the rest of their family.

Will let out a sound of protest when he turned from the stove with a pan full of bacon to see his mother had cleared the plates off of the island. "Mom." The call went right over the woman's head as the Loraine girl sniggered at the Walter boys frustration.

Will calls out to his mother again this time gaining her attention. "Mom, you need to relax a bit," the redheaded woman lets out a puff of air raking her hand through her hair, "everything is gonna be fine."

Katherine nodded in acknowledgment of what her son said saying a few yes's and yeah's trying to convince herself more so than the younger group that sat in the kitchen.

She looked around the kitchen and then at the people who filled it: Will, Ciara, George, Danny, Parker, Benny, and Jordan.

"Yea. Yea, you're right. Everything's gonna be just fine," she says, grabbing her purse from its place on the dining table, "We should get going now." She looks to George who is already waiting at the kitchen entrance with his keys in hand.

"Bye, please wake up the rest of the boys. And remember to wash the dish-" the sound of the door slamming shut cut her off.

Will lets out a relieved breath. "Can someone go wake up the rest of the litter please."

Ciara quickly shoves the rest of the piece of scrambled egg that she was eating into her mouth getting up from her barstool, "I got it." She managed to get out through her mouth full without choking.

She made her way up the stairs after grabbing a few pieces of bacon that Will had just taken off the stove. She went up the stairs two steps at a time nearly tripping at the end.
