Chapter4-The mystery continued

(This chapter is in Percy's pov but chapter 5 will change to Luke's pov.)

Percy's pov-

I stared at Luke silently for a moment, as I replayed the words "my soul is gone." In my mind.  Luke went quiet as I could tell he was waiting for a response from me. I looked at him. "....what do you mean your soul is gone?..." He was silent for a few minutes then looked at me as he answered. "....what I mean by that, is my soul is gone or is missing....I think something happened to me when I came back from Elysium..." I went quiet as he told me this, and looked at him. "What do you think happened to you.?." Luke went silent for a moment as he looked at me, I could tell he was thinking about his answer. "....i don't know what happened to me, exactly. But I think someone or something took my soul and left me without it." I went silent at this, and looked at him.
Had hades or someone taken Luke's soul?...
He looked away from me after a moment, I noticed that Luke was rather silent now and he was staring at something so I turned around and saw that Annabeth was watching us. She didn't look happy at all, and was glaring at Luke.
I looked at her for a moment then I turned to face Luke. "....if your soul is gone, we will have to speak with Hades...." I paused then hesitated. ".....Chiron told you about your father wanting to see you....didn't he?...." Luke looked at me and I could see that he was hesitant. He looked at me for a moment. "Yes....Chiron told me that...Hermes wants to see me..." I looked at him. ".....You should go see him then...he is your father...." I saw a look of anger come across Luke's face for an instant. He glared at me. "Look, Percy. I don't want to talk about my father. So don't tell me what I should do." I went quiet, and looked away.
"....i think someone wants to talk to you Percy..." At this, i turned around and saw that Annabeth was looking at me. I sighed. "....i'll be back soon..." I looked at Luke for a moment
"....it's your choice what you want to do or not...." Luke looked as though he was going to say something but before he could i turned and walked away.
As I was walking away, I heard a voice from behind me.
"Percy....why were you talking to him...?" It was Annabeth, I was silent for a moment then turned around to face her.
".....because he's Luke...and he lost his soul...." She looked at me and went silent.
After a moment, she sighed. ".....Don't try and change the subject Percy....i saw the way he was looking at you...." She paused. "Is Luke in love with you...?."
I looked at her silently, then nodded. "....yes....He told me he's in love with me...why are you bringing this up?...." Annabeth frowned. "Because you're already with someone....You're not in love with him, so why would he tell you...?." I went silent, and looked away which she must've seen because Annabeth stared at me quietly for a moment. ".....You....your in love with him, aren't you....?." I didn't want to answer her, I didn't want to hurt her. But I was only denying the truth by not telling her.
I looked at her silently for a moment. "....yes...I'm in love with Luke..." I hesitated, then looked away as my voice went quiet. "....i was always in love with him...." She went silent.
I looked at her and saw that her eyes were tearing up slowly. "....you love him....?." I nodded slightly, not wanting to cause any more pain...
".....Yes, I love Luke...I'm sorry Annabeth, I can't lie to myself anymore....i want to be with him..." Annabeth went quiet and looked at me. "....Percy...if you truly want to be with Luke...then you know what has to happen...." I knew what she was talking about, I looked up at her. ".....you want to break up...." She was quiet, then nodded. "...it's best for the both of us if we do...." I looked at her, at the tears in her eyes....I didn't want to hurt her, but I couldn't keep lying to myself that I loved her....
".....Annabeth...I'm sorry....but I don't love you anymore...." I paused and waited. She looked at me quietly. "....It's alright....i understand....the heart wants what it wants right?...."
I nodded quietly. "....we can stay friends....but that's all." I looked at her and nodded slightly. She looked at me "....alright..." I sighed then hugged her. She hesitated then hugged me back before letting go and walking away.

I watched her walk away, then went to my cabin and sat down on the bed looking out the window. I heard a knock on the door. ".....Percy...? It's Luke...can I come in?..." I went silent, I didn't really want to talk to him right now as I'd just broken up with Annabeth. But....i wanted to know what Luke wanted to talk about so I opened the door and looked at him.
"....Luke....what is it?...." He looked at me quietly for a moment, then before I could react or say anything, Luke stepped closer towards me and leaned forward pressing his lips gently against mine. My eyes widened slightly at this unexpected show of affection from him. My heart was racing inside of my chest at the feeling of Luke's soft lips still pressed against mine.
After a few minutes of silence, he slowly pulled away and looked at me.
".....Percy...." I shook my head and looked at him. ".....I....that....i..." I was speechless and didn't know what to say as he stared at me. His gaze was still locked on me as I stayed silent for what felt like hours....
Luke hesitated, then reached out and placed his hand on my cheek as he looked into my eyes.
".....please, say something Percy...." I tensed at his touch, his hand on my cheek. I looked up into Luke's eyes, studying his face. ".....I love you..." Luke went silent as he looked at me, he leaned towards me a little. "....you love me?...what about...?." I looked at him. "....Annabeth and i aren't together anymore....we broke up." He looked at me. "....how does that make you feel....?." I frowned and looked at him. ".....Luke, I'm not in love with her anymore. I'm in love with you. I always was..."
He went quiet for a moment then leaned in and kissed me gently. Keeping his hand on my cheek. "....I love you too Percy...." He quietly whispered near my ear. Then pulled away and looked at me. ".....Will you be my boyfriend Percy?...."
I went speechless for a moment at this, I'd always wanted him to ask this. I had always loved Luke. I looked at him, at the person I thought I'd lost when he died. I nodded slightly "yes I'll be your boyfriend...." Luke smiled and pulled me towards him. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed me.
