That morning was cold as usual and Peyton had just arrived at the Great Hall. Several Gryffindors could be seen having their breakfast and the same goes for other houses.

She sat on the Slytherin table with the ancient runes book, and her infamous lollipops placed beside her. She figured out that Grace failed her first attempt because Theo was still breathing fine last night.

Not only she was avoiding him, she pretended like he never even existed and Peyton knew that he noticed what she's doing.

She loved making him feel guilty and hurting his pride fulfilled her desire.

He was a subject.

Grabbing the book on the table, she was disturbed when an owl landed next to where she was sitting. It brought a letter to her.

She knew it was from her beloved father because it wasn't put on a spell.

Peyton quickly grabbed the letter and took it out from the envelope.

To Peyton

I shall see you this summer, no excuses needed, I'll demand for Collin to pick you up at the platform. More businesses are coming our way and I expect you to behave well during the summer ball. I've received a news from Professor Snape, informing me about you losing focus in his class. I expect you to do better, you must not have any weaknesses.

Not to mention I've arranged a meeting with the Jacksons and I reckon Mason must have spoken to you about the matter. I've arranged everything for your future, all you need to do right now is to quickly eliminate the heir to the Nott's throne.

Don't be a disappointment to our legacy. You're taking too much time. Do not cause any more trouble that could defame our family. I actually expect more from you.

Truly,
Lord Blackwood.

Rolling her eyes in annoyance, Peyton crumpled up the letter like it was nothing.

Didn't even care to use the word father in his every letters and people asked why she seemed a bit off around her guardian whom she was supposed to feel safe with.

After the reading the threatening letter from her father, Peyton had lost her appetite and she planned to just ditch breakfast since she wasn't even hungry anymore. But before she could leave, Montague who just arrived, approached her with his welcoming smile he was known for.

"Morning, Blackwood," he said, his smile didn't fade from his face. "You're not eating breakfast."

It wasn't the first time Peyton talked to Montague. In fact, they had talked several times before on several occasions.

Besides, he was part of the Slytherin quidditch team and Peyton was close to the clique.

"Montague," she mentioned his name. "Nope, a perfect body like mine comes with a flaw."

Montague's eyes caught the crumpled up paper in her hand and decided to ask her about it. "What that's? Another apologies letter from Nott?"

No it was from that maniac who's hungry with power.

Peyton denied. "No, just a homework that I think could use a bit of improvement."

"Where are the others?" Montague purposely tried to change the subject so that he could talk longer with the witch. After all, Theodore Nott wasn't around so no one could stop him.

"I don't know really," shrugged the Slytherin witch who wanted to ditch the conversation so badly. "But I really got to go somewhere right now."

Montague nodded, he knew Peyton would never want to hold a conversation with someone like him. He was no one compared to someone like Nott. But at least he dared to dream.
