I woke up the next morning in an unfamiliar bed. When I turned my head, I saw a girl lying next to me, who I immediately recognized.
"What am I doing in here, Kate?" I asked, feeling angry. She lifted her head and responded, "I brought you in here after you fell asleep, so you wouldn't have to sleep on the couch."
"I would have preferred to sleep on the couch," I replied as I sat up in bed. However, as I tried to get up, she grabbed my wrist and said, "Olivia."
"What?" I asked, annoyed.
"Don't tell anyone," she said. I looked away and rolled my eyes before leaving the room.
When I walked into the living room, I saw Gabbie and Caitlin drinking coffee. "I could use some coffee," I said, laughing a little. Caitlin laughed and handed me a cup. I added some sugar and creamer, and then Kate emerged from her room.
We all gathered and chatted for a few minutes, but eventually, I left to prepare for practice. I put on my practice shorts and placed my shoes in my bag before heading to the gym, arriving a little early. Upon entering, I walked towards the trainer, Annica.
"Hey Olivia, how are you doing?" she asked.
"I'm great," I replied. She nodded and started my test, instructing me to do squats and lunges. As I went down, I tried to conceal the pain on my face.
"Olivia, does that hurt?" she inquired. I quickly shook my head and attempted to push through the pain.
"If it starts hurting during practice, come to me," she advised.
"Thank you, Annica." I grabbed my bag and put on my shoes before beginning to shoot.
We start to scrimmage towards the end of practice. We're losing by 3, and it's our ball, and I'm taking it down the court. Kate starts to guard me, and I can't get any space, so I pass the ball to Gabbie and screen Caitlin. I make some room to shoot the 3, and I make it. I feel the pain in my knee increase. I tell coach blunder that I need to go to the locker room. As I hurry there, the pain increases. I grab the morphine and needle out of my bed, and I put the shot in my knee. Kate walks in, and I hurry and put it back in my bag.
"What was that." She asks when she walks closer to me.
"Nothing." She rolls her eyes, grabs her drink, and walks back out. Everyone comes to the locker room cause practice had ended, and Hannah walks up to me.
"Hey Liv, wanna go out tonight," Hannah asks.
"Yeah, sure." I look towards Kate, but look away when I realize she's looking at me. I leave the locker room and head to my car. When I get home, I take and shower.
I got ready to go out, I put on grey cargo pants and had a tight, long-sleeved black crop top. I straightened my hair and put on some light makeup.
We all met up in the parking lot, where my car was. Caitlin said that she would be our dd, but she wanted to drive my car. When we got to the club I went to get a drink from the bar.
"What can I get you love." The girl behind the bar asks.
"Shirley temple." She nods and makes it.
"Could I get your name too?" she said, smirking. I could tell she was flirting with me. I looked and saw Kate staring at both of us.
I grinned and looked back at the woman in front of me.
"Olivia," I said, looking up at the woman.
"I'm Sky." We talked for a while, and she was pretty cool. I made my way back, went to the group, and saw Kate talking and laughing with some girl. I roll my eyes and sit next to Caitlin.
"Who was the girl you were talking to?" She asks me, which caught Kate's attention.
"Her name is Sky. We were just talking a little bit." I say laughing a little. Kate's sitting across from me around at the table. I feel her foot on my leg. I look up and see her smirking. I try to ignore it and talk to Caitlin. She moves her foot to my thigh and looks me straight in my eyes.
I excuse myself and hurry to the bathroom. I head the door open, and Kate walks in.
"What the hell was that." I ask her angrily as she walks up to me. She doesn't say anything when she walks up to me.
"You can't do that. You have no right-." I say before she grabs my face and kisses me. I instantly kiss her back. A few minutes passed, and we broke apart completely out of breath.
"That never happened." Kate said before she left the bathroom, leaving me there stunned and confused. I walk back out of the bathroom, acting like nothing happened. I walked to the bar, and I started flirting with Sky. Kate looked so pissed at me, but I ignored her for the rest of the night.
