Ok so I may or may not have been cooking smth up for a bit now, another retake of a concept that very much isn't mine but I feel like I could do more justice than the creator because... Good lord, Jaiz is controversial.

Anyway, so uh, my EXE Fandom Bros out there, have you heard of a little thing called the Nightmare Universe? A thing that started out as a remake of the original EXE Game as an actual game but eventually turned into a convoluted mess that peaked in popularity when the creator decided to make one of his EXEs a P3do and R@pist? Yeah, uh, no wonder you probably forgot.

So anyway, because of a certain FNF Mod (eugh), it's seen a resurgence of popularity as of late, and so I decided, hey, why not pick back up where I left off back in 2020? Yes folks, I am doing a retake of the Nightmare Universe, now officially renamed to:

Yeah the name has a meaning but I've done enough waffling so if you wanna know, go ask in my PMs or whatever, you're here to see the art, well:

Once again, me and F4KQCID3 have been cooking. However, not alone, for we have had the assistance of a Picrew by @Dakufantaji on Twitter. How fun. Anyway, the images made with it have been edited by Ray and I, ao uh, enjoy:

Starting from the top with the characters, we have:

Chaos Hunter (Junter)
The husk of Sonic from when Exetior was... Well, doing EXE things and ended up killing all of his friends. He now hops realms and harvests Chaos Energy, mostly from the various splinters of Knuckles (why not himself is weird but whatever). Also that gray ruby in his chest us a reference to my Frontiers retake, but that's a story for another time.

Exetior, The Leader/Ex-Highest
This asshole is the reason any of this is happening in the first place, waging war against the other Highests for a better life for demons. Sounds good, but also he's responsible for a genocide or three, the death and subsequent demonization of Sonic's friends and the state that Junter is in generally. He's nice to his servants though and has friends so... Balances out I guess.

TELOS, The Guardian
This guy replaces a character called Creep, who was basically Majin before Majin. He was a sort of Guardian Demon in Sonic's mind, but since that's dumb, I decided to completely change him appearance-wise and justify his role by essentially being a manifestation of the Chaos and Phantom Ruby Energy (again, ask in DMs if you wanna know) in Junter's body. Also, Court Of Owls reference.

Sark, The Degenerate/Dissenter
THIS is the asshole that got Jaiz in hot shit. Don't worry, he's not as bad in Telos Ephemera, but he's still pretty bad. All the abuse he did to his Amy is still in tact, just without throwing Cream in that fray (hell, I even made everyone canonically older also to fit with the NM Timeline and prevent... THAT shit). He's an asshole and is also very insane. He has a Blackrom crush on one of the Highests too. Exetior and him do... not get along.

Negagen, The Angel/Psychokinetic
This guy probably has the least changes done to him, just a minor design tweak really. He's Exetior's most loyal follower and best friend, having followed him in the First Inferno War and joining him in the current second war. He follows with undying loyalty and also is in charge of keeping everyone in line. He's very emotionally deprived though, so uh... Expect him to be rather dry.

Pervision, The Demon/Scientist
Pervision is Exetior's Left Hand Man, performing body-modifying science on Mobians and keeping watch over the newly demonised girls during the start of the story. He's also willing to lend an ear to those in Exetior's Group who are willing to seek help. He's easily the most respectable demon there, and has gained Exetior's full trust.

Anyway uh, thanks for reading this load of bullshit, I'm sure... SOMETHING will come from this.
