Pedri didn't talk to Laia but went to see Ferran instead. His friend didn't expect to see Pedri on their day off, since he told him he had plans but noticed something was wrong immediately.
"Why are you here?"
"Did you know?", asked Pedri.
"That you were coming here? No".
"Did you know about Eric and Laia?"
Ferran frowned. What was he supposed to know? "I know what you know. That they used to date".
"They're back together".
"What?"
"I went to see Laia and saw him getting out of her house. And they kissed".
Ferran closed his eyes and sighed. Of course this story wasn't over. Of course. He just wanted everything to be fine between his friends. But their little apology was too good to be true.
"I guess you never forget your first love and they talked again and this happened...".
"Which side are you on, Ferran?"
"Oh, I have to be immature like you two and pick sides? I'm on the side where I don't want my friends to ruin their friendship because of a girl".
"She's not just a girl and you know it".
"And what are you going to do now, Pedri? Because I don't like that expression you got on your face at the moment".
"I'll make Eric pay for this".
"What?"
This was literally the worst thing that could happen. Ferran could see the anger in Pedri's face and it felt so wrong. That anger shouldn't be directed at Eric. At a friend he loved and had been through so much with.
"Pedri, you have to think about this...".
"He went behind my back"."I know. But you weren't talking to her anymore, Pedri. And they've got history", tried to reason Ferran.
"So? I have history with her too and it's more recent. Why doesn't that count?"
"What are you going to do then? Fight him like he fought you? You are acting like literal children".
"No, I'll fight for her".
"But what if that ruins your friendship with Eric?"
"Then so be it".
"Pedri...please, don't do this", begged Ferran. He didn't know what to do or what to say to get Pedri to change his mind.
"So you want him to get Laia".
"I don't want to lose my friends. Can any of you get that?"
"I'm sorry you're in the middle of this".
"You're not. Eric isn't either. You're both being selfish and stupid and will hurt each other and those around you. You'll hurt Laia too. Even though you pretend to love her so much".
Pedri thought about Ferran's words. He wasn't wrong. A lot of people were likely to get hurt in this war. But he didn't care because he had been hurt first. By Laia but, most importantly, by Eric too. And he didn't expect that. He didn't expect his betrayal. So it was time for an eye for an eye.
