Liam was right about sending them home taking a while. Texty spent the entire time searching, so Liam entertained himself by talking to the people on The Plain. Bryce hadn't said anything yet, but Amelia and the others were happy to chat.
He learned a lot about them, stuff he had learnt from the contestant website but had forgotten about. It was easier to remember when someone else was telling him instead of reading it off of a screen.
Moldy's real name was Charlotte, and Scenty was actually Amelia. None of the others had real names. Whippy Creamy was trying out some though. So far he liked both Brayden and Tyler. Liam found himself wondering if when he sent them back if they would be sent to their original world or his.
Amelia was particularly chatty. She asked a lot of questions about The Waiting Room, that was what she called the room with the radio. Liam wondered how she came up with that. She asked a lot about everything, actually.
When she asked questions about him and his life, he tried to give good answers, but the truth was he couldn't remember much of it. He remembered he had a horrible memory anyway, but thought he would remember more. Was his life that uneventful, or was he not trying hard enough to remember? He tried not to think about it and told himself if he got out of here he would remember more.

Since there was a day and night cycle in this universe, he was able to tell the others how many days were passing, which they appreciated.
It had been three days.
Liam found himself staring at the computer screen more often now. Watching things pop up and disappear faster than he was able to keep up. He also found himself zoning out more often and apologizing for it. Was that something that usually happened when you were anxious?
When Texty found something, he had zoned out staring at the computer. He blinked when he saw text being typed out on a text document.
"Hey I found something. |"
A pop-up appeared underneath the text document. It was a list of different commands, from what Liam could tell, and he could decipher what some of them meant. Like the one that said 'Send to original place', he had a fair assumption about what that meant. Texty seemed to think the same.
"Type it in here |"
Another pop-up appeared.Liam didn't hesitate. At the same time, he started speaking into the microphone.
"Ok, guys, Texty found it! I can send you all home now, I'm pretty sure I can only do one at a time but-""Send me home last." Bryce spoke for the first time in three days and he didn't sound happy. "I have some more words I'd like to say to you." Liam could imagine what they were. He considered sending him home first, but he decided not to. He'd let Bryce say what he wanted to say, even if it wasn't fun to listen to.
He decided to send Amelia home first. She asked for a moment, before saying was ready to go. The relief in her voice made Liam happy.
He ended up having to type the command in twice, because it turns out when it asked for who to send home it meant their competition name, not their real one. He told himself to remember that.
She said goodbye to everyone, and if they ever met by some crazy chance she could let them join her yoga class. Liam knew it wouldn't happen. It was nice to think about though. Maybe he could try yoga if he was stuck here forever.
Next he sent home Charlotte. She sounded pretty happy to leave too, she had told him she had some things she really, really needed to do, and he thought he knew what it was. He didn't ask though.
Then Tray. Then Atom. Then Subway Seat. Then Whippy Creamy. They all had their own parting words, and they all sounded pretty happy to be going. That made Liam happy too.
And then there was Bryce. He hadn't said anything for about two minutes, so Liam assumed he didn't want to say anything anymore and started typing in the command.
"Promise me," Liam stopped typing and looked over at The Plain. "That after you send me home, you'll find a way back and come visit me so I know you're back, and not stuck in some crazy other dimension."
Liam thought about it. Could he promise if he didn't think it was possible? Would Bryce want him to tell the truth? Would he wait for him if he promised? How long would he wait for?
"I'll let you in this time. I won't shut the door on you."
Liam processed what he had said, and started laughing. Maybe it wasn't meant to be funny, but he found it to be.
"...Yeah. I promise. I'll visit."
"Good."
Liam went back to typing in the command.
"This is it. Goodbye Bryce."
"See you soon."
"...Bye."
He pressed the enter key.
And it went quiet.

Texty was back in the laptop, which Liam had placed on the ground a safe distance away, and Liam had the axe. He stared at the computer. He thought of what would happen if someone else stumbled upon this place. The same thing that happened to him could happen to others. So many others.
He lifted the axe over his head, and struck. Once, then twice, then three times. Satisfied, he lowered his arms and dropped the axe on the floor. He picked the laptop off the floor.
"Are you ready to go now? |"
"What? Where?"
"Back to the cat room so we can go home. |"
Liam stared at the text on the screen. He swallowed the lump in his throat again. He had to tell him anyway.
"The notes..got destroyed."
"What|"
