Charlottes POV:
I wake up realising Marjorie's back today. I would be happy to have her back only realisation hit me that today would be the day she found out I was dating her so called worst enemy.
Mia can tell I'm nervous so she doesn't say much on the car ride. I go to the office expecting to see Marjorie but it's just autumn sat there. "Mia we won't need your assistance today" autumn doesn't look up. She's half guessing that Mia's stood beside me and she's right "bye" Mia gives me a goodbye kiss. "Guess Marjorie's not back yet?" I state the obvious. She rolls her eyes. "Obviously not" she says it in a joking manner.
"Still nervous about telling her?" It's like autumn can read minds. I nod. She gets up from her chair hugging me "listen it'll be ok if she's your real friend she won't judge. She may not like Mia but she should keep her opinions to herself" autumn reassures me. She sits back down looking at the roster "you're in the toddler room today" I nod leaving autumn sat there.
Mia's POV:
I forgot that Marjorie and autumn being back meant going back to my own nursery. "Hi Siobhan" I walk into the office. Siobhan looks up wondering who had said her name "what are you doing here" she snarls. I sit down at my desk looking at the paper work I'd been working on when Marjorie and Reece first left. "Autumns back and both Marjorie and Reece are coming back today so means back to our old jobs" I smile. I'm happy to be back at the nursery I'd grown fond of but I knew without Charlotte my day would be long.
I hear the office door swing open looking up to see Reece stood there. "Mia" he nods at me looking around the office his eyes landing on Siobhan. "Hi Siobhan heard you were covering here" he rolls his eyes thinking nobody had noticed. "Uh so I guess I'll leave?" Siobhan smiles a wide smile "finally you haven't really worked wonders with this nursery it smells awful and just looks weird" she rolls her eyes before leaving.
Reece sits down in his chair "hi Reece" Reece's brow creases "no handsome, did you meet someone else?" He teases. A deep blush spreads across my cheeks as I shake my head "n-no" I stutter. He laughs "sure" he winks which makes me blush even more.
Charlottes POV:
I see Marjorie sat in the office laughing at whatever joke autumn had made. I decide it isn't the right time to tell her but before I can walk away she sees me beckoning for me to enter. "Charlotte honey I've missed you" she pulls me into a hug. I smile "I've missed you too Marjorie it wasn't the same without you" I say genuinely smiling. She then says "I bet so with Mia here she better have not done anything wrong.." she continues ranting for a full 10 minutes. I clench my fists fighting the urge to contradict Marjorie and tell her right in that moment. "So how's the nursery been?" She looks between both me and autumn. I'm not stupid I'm fully aware autumns staring at me probably thinking I'm going to tell her right now. "Yeah, yeah it's good a few problems with the parents you know the usual but apart from that all good!" I exclaim not giving anything away. "Great Charlotte I'm really sorry but could you cover at the sister nursery tomorrow their short staffed loads of staff sick" I hide the smile and blush that seem to want to appear on my face. I nod. "Yeah that's f-fine" I say nervously hoping she can't tell I'm hiding something. "So we're going to lock up now-" she's cut off by a voice at the door. My eyes swing to the door "hey sweet hear you ready?" It's Mia. I nod. Marjorie's staring at me confused. "Yeah Mia can you wait in the er car I'll be out in a second" Mia nods her eyes landing on Marjorie "welcome back" she smiles as she leaves. Marjorie glares after her. "Charlotte?" I can tell she has a million questions.
I swallow. I hadn't wanted to spill the news like this "Marjorie I'm sorry it just happened were dating no labels yet" I spit out in a rush trying not to cry and hoping Marjorie wouldn't be mad. She glares at me "Charlotte she's evil she's going to hurt you like she did to Reece and autumn!" Marjorie shouts slamming a book on the desk making me jump. I shake my head "Marjorie she's changed!" She doesn't reply instead storming out both me and autumn following behind. As we leave she locks up not saying another word "Marjorie!" She completely ignores me getting into her car and driving off.
Oh no Marjorie didn't take the news too well! Hopefully they make up
