"Yes Ma! I know, I won't go anywhere but where Silas is!" A confident, curious 10 year old would state before skipping and prancing out of the house with a satchel by his side.
Sadie rolled her eyes, "Oh that boy acts as if he knows the world from the back of his palm...every corner to every system." A gruff chuckle came from a tall Sucrasian, "He is your son, dear." Gino remarked as he sorted through letters.
The brunette woman would lean on her hand's palm as she leaned toward her alien husband, "Mhm, what's that supposed to mean, murder mouth?" She laughed before she was picked up by the chief of Sucras, "Nothin Negative, Sadie love, he's just as curious as you!"
The woman laughed as she was spun around by Gino, the rings on their fingers, their son prancing down into the forest and cliffs ahead.

Standing on tiptoe naturally, Orin started to hum a tune that was frequently performed as a rhyme in the village. To go along with his humming, he swung around, climbed trees, and pranced over branches. His feet made a little beat. The skies above him, in small gaps between the trees, being blue with some clouds that littered them, the grass would glow and grow little flowers at each step before descending back to the grounds below. He eventually discovered himself ascending a hill, which he happened to ascend frequently to reach a certain alien that always sat there to think.
Once spotted, the hybrid got down and slowly began to sneak up to him, using the taller grass to assist him. His tail down, slowly swaying as he then stopped and wiggled his shoulders. Though— as he pounced, Silas turned around and stopped him mid pounce, "You snuck way too late." He snorted and let his younger brother go, his body on the ground now with a huff. "Last time, you s said I did it too early! I can't win!"
The 26 year old would shrug, "Maybe you should listen better in those classes we put you in." The 10 year old sighed, "I do! I listen to every detail that I physically can in those classes...it would be better if they did more physical practises..."
"Physical? What, they don't do that now or something?" The large Sucrasian would shift his gaze to his hybrid sibling slightly. Orin, sheepishly looking away with a twitch of his right ear, "...Not when you're not physically built for it."
This caused Silas to look over fully, that remark was unexpected yet felt wrong, very wrong, "Not...physically built? Orin, are they restricting certain practices to you?"
"Silas, they said it's for the best, I could get hurt or eaten or...what was the l last one..." he tapped his chin in thought, "...ah! Die, I could d die."Silas just looked around his sibling, "They aren't wrong but they still shouldn't restrict you of your needed self defence and knowledge." He looked at the view again, noticing how the plants across the forest were starting to glow ahead. A clear sign that the night was upon them. "I'll teach you it all myself, all that they restricted will be taught from me."
Orin felt as if his fern coloured eyes could sparkle, this was amazing to him. He felt so left out just sitting and doing nothing as his Sucrasian classmates pounced and hunted; Also quite sick of the teasing every so often from said classmates. "Really? You mean it?" A chirp behind his voice from the utter excitement that overcome his small body. "I mean it, calm yourself now." Silas snorted to his siblings reaction.
Orin would cheer a bit, climbing up onto the 26 year old's back and hugging him so his face went into his cobalt blue mane. Silas huffed then chuckled before grabbing the hybrid, moving him to his chest so he could lay upon his back without hurting his small brother. His large hand would ruffle Orin's hair as the hybrid thanked him, "Thank you! T Thank you! Oh! When do we start?!"
On the floor, Silas looked down at the hybrid's face resting against his chest, such a small face, "How about tomorrow night? Just before sun down—" then an idea struck him, it was wrong but if they kept their mouths closed, it may just work, "— or, we could do it in the morning."
This response made Orin's ,now, hair ruffled head to tilt, "But Silas, I have school tomorrow in the morning, Pa drops me off." Silas clicked his fingers, "Exactly, this is where the first lesson comes in...stealth. I'll ask Pa if I can bring you, once we are out of sight, we make a run for the fields, once your classes are over, I'll bring you home."
Orin listened to this as his hands fixed his blue, ombré hair, this sounded like fun but what if they got caught. It was an easy thing to happen after all. Wouldn't it disappoint Ma and Pa?
He could be overthinking though."Tomorrow? So I skip school?"
Silas nodded, "Tomorrow."
"But— Don't I need to l learn?"
"You will be learning but from me, honestly Orin, from what I've heard, you aren't learning enough in that hut and what you have learnt isn't taught right enough." Silas remarked.
He was right. Orin's teachers were sloppy to him but everyone else benefitted from them as they taught the Sucrasians' properly. The only thing Orin actually liked about school, was break and lunch times. Not because it was food, but the timed sense of freedom is what he enjoyed the most. He would usually go out to climb trees or chase around butterflies away from everyone else.
The hybrid thought on it before nodding to Silas, a happy smile forming on his face. This was wrong but even in his little mind, he knew it would benefit him— he also trusted his big brother.
Silas smiled right back as he lay back on the grass once again. This was it, Silas was in for a long but beneficial ride.
