Diana’s POV:

It had been a long couple of days working on Lily’s dress, but it was also quite relaxing. I did always love working on clothes, especially dresses, so it wasn’t so bad.

What was bothering me was not having my tablets to help deal with my condition, my senses had been going nuts, recently i had been experiencing horrible migraines for hours at a time during sunrise.

I couldn't seem to get myself to sleep at night either, my insomnia becoming more and more difficult to deal with.

I must have lost them while travelling, I was sure I had packed them but as I went to check, they were gone, I only had my blood tablets.

I started taking longer runs at night, taking new trails and listening to my playlists to attempt to tired myself out to eventually get to sleep.

I was on one such nightly run right now actually, wearing some exercise leggings and a sports vest tank top, my hair tied back into a low ponytail. It was like all the previous nights, cool air, dirt trails and a calming emptiness.

My eyes had been getting much more sensitive, so I didn't bother bringing a torch, I assumed my eyes were simply picking up on subtle light more than normal.

Would explain the migraines at least.

I remembered a conversation I had with Lily while we were working on her dress. There was a section marked off to protect the hunting grounds, I assumed this town enjoyed the wild hunting life.

I had stayed clear of it most of the time, only getting close to look for a few seconds before leaving again.

I didn't plan on accidentally getting myself shot, I didn't trust their emergency urgent care, it seemed far too small for my liking, a few patients max was all they could handle in an emergency was my guess.

I was zoned out listening to my mix playlist when I got a sudden gut feeling to stop and look behind me.

My skin felt prickly and the hairs on my body stood on end.

I felt a sense of danger overcome me as I took my headphones off and looked around, this had me on edge, I never normally felt like this.

It had only happened once before when I was almost a victim of a kidnapping or mugging, I'm not sure, I didn't stick around to find out.

“Hello?” I called out, hoping it was just a random town person, someone out for a late night stroll.

I didn’t see anyone at first, I assumed I must have imagined it or maybe there was a spider or wild animal that had already run off.

I went to put my headphones back on when I noticed something move out or the corner of my eye.

I snapped my head around to look in its direction, my whole body tensed when I made eye contact with the culprit of the noise.

In the distance from me was a large brown wolf, its dull yellow eyes looked muddy and strained, bloodshot and mucus buildup in corners of its eyes. its teeth were bared and watching me with malicious intentions, stalking ever so slowly in my direction.

I felt my whole body grow tense and shivered, I’d never been in a situation like this, I wasn’t equipped to handle animals, the only experience I had was an elderly cat when I was a child.

In fact I’d always had an uneasy feeling around dogs, especially husky’s or that style of breed.

I couldn’t explain the uneasy feeling I got around canines, it had always been there since I could remember, it made making friends hard sometimes because of not liking their pets.
