19: Dream Sweet

A/N: Sorry this took so long I thought I already published this 💀

I was already super late so I ran to the attendings lounge

I just started to change into my scrubs when a voice interrupted me at the doorway

"I was wondering when you were gonna turn up for work today. I thought you ran away with your girlfriend" Addie smirked

"Good morning to you too"

She came over and hugged me

"Did you mean to put on the same clothes as yesterday or did you just not have anything different to change into because you didn't go home?"

I playfully rolled my eyes and swatted her away

"So how was it? I'm dying to know!"

I ignored her and took my shirt off to change into my scrubs

"Oh my god! How many hickeys..?" She said in a shocked tone

I looked down and completely forgot that it looked like I got attacked by a bear

"I guess that answers one of your questions, no?"

I hurriedly put my scrub top on so no one else could see

"Was she good?"

I looked at her questioningly

She then showed what she meant with her hands, motioning two pairs of scissors interlocked

I giggled at her signs

"She was the best I've had in a long time" I swooned

I removed my trousers and put on the rest of my dark blue scrubs before walking out of the lounge, Addie tailing behind me

"What movie did you guys watch?"

"Carol"

"Oh, that new gay Christmas movie?"

"Yeah, it was a good movie. You should watch it"

"Did you do anything after? Well, apart from the-"

"We went stargazing" I answered quickly

"That's so cute! So-"

"Doctor Grey?" I raised my voice slightly, caught Lexie's attention, causing her to walk over to us

"Yes, Doctor Sloan?" She said with an innocent smile

"I have a little present for you" I whispered in her ear as I dropped her keys into her pocket

"Thank you" she whispered back

She stroked up my arm that had just been in her pocket, making my breath hitch

"I'll see you later" she said in a lowered, husky, seductive voice before continuing walking to wherever she was going

I straightened up and walked back to Addie

"That was hot" she said teasingly

"Shut up. I was just returning her keys"

She raised her eyebrow at me

"What?!"

"Why are you so grumpy today?"

"I am not grumpy"

"You are"

"Not"

"Are"

"Not"

"Are"

"I'm not. You're just being super annoying today"

"You say that every day"

"I mean it every day"

"Oh yeah? Well at least I don't sleep with-"

"Mark!!" I yelled running towards my older brother

"Hey sis!"

We captured each other in a bear hug

I heard Addie sigh in an annoyed fashion as I had interrupted her once again

***Time Skip//Lexie POV***

I was eating my lunch with the rest of my fellow interns when my pager started beeping

I sighed as everyone else laughed and then continued eating

I turned it up to see who it was

Y/N

I slammed my tray down next to me and ran off to find her

I eventually got to an on call room in a busy hallway

I walked in and closed and locked the door behind me, my back to the room

I felt a pair of hands wrap around my waist from the back and a head land on my shoulder

"I've missed you" Y/N breathed into my neck

I placed my hands on hers whilst we gently swayed together

"I missed you too" I replied, also in a hushed voice

"Come, lay with me" she said as she moved us backwards to the bed

She fell back onto the bed, scooting over so I could lie next to her

I gently relaxed down into the covers, facing her

I examined her face

Her beautiful e/c eyes

Her gorgeous h/c hair

Her pretty facial features

She's so pretty

What did I do to deserve her

I gently caressed her cheek as she melted into my touch

She placed an arm around my body and pulled me in closer, placing her chin on the top of my head

I took in her sweet scent as my consciousness slowly began to fade, her calming heart beat and relaxed breathing acting as a lullaby

I eventually slipped away into the world of dreams, the only thing stopping me from falling being the loving arm around myself

***Y/N POV***

I felt her further relax as she nuzzled against my chest, her rhythmic breathing sounding almost godlike

I stroked her hair with the most delicate of touches as I felt her fall into the realm of sleep

I silently chuckled to myself at just how safe she felt in my arms

I too felt sleep approaching me as I listened to her gentle snoring

With a relaxed sigh, i joined her in slumber

Fresh snowflakes fell past the large bay window as we watched, embraced by our undying love for each other.

The two young children running around excitedly in the snow, wearing coats that were way too big for their size, but they would grow into eventually

We sat on the soft cushioned sofa, holding mugs of fresh hot cocoa and covered by a thick wooly blanket

The Christmas tree that loomed by the window lit up the room with the soft beige fairy lights and glowing red baubles

The smell of cinnamon coming from the kitchen filling our noses made just that bit more perfect

I kissed the top of my wife's head as we enjoyed watching them play outside, so carefree

She took my hand and and drew patterns all over it with the tip of her nail, making me giggle and squirm as she tickled me

The kids had started stockpiling little snowballs behind makeshift snow walls on opposite sides of the garden

Their little faces turning a rosy red with the cold biting them

It's the life I had always dreamed of, and it's finally real
