July 2021
Moving into my apartment was rough. I had a shit ton of stuff but so little time to move it in. Technically I wasn't supposed to be moving in until late August but coach was adamant on me going to at least one summer workout.
"Last box," I muttered to myself as I waited for the next elevator to my floor. I checked my phone to see the time and saw 6 missed calls from my mom, 3 from Noah, 2 from Parker, and oddly enough, 4 from Paige.
"What the hell is going on," I whispered as the elevator door dinged. Not looking up from my phone, I began blindly walking into the elevator only to end up on my ass.
"Oh my gosh! Are you okay?" A voice spoke from above me.
"Yeah, I'm okay. It's totally my fault thought! I wasn't look-" and I froze. I was on the ground infront of the one and only Caitlin Clark. Talk about good first impressions.
"You're Caitlin Clark. I just ran into Caitlin Clark," I spoke nervously. Caitlin laughed.
"Yes, I am Caitlin Clark but I kinda ran into you too," She said as she held out a hand for me to take. I took her hand and she pulled me up from my spot on the floor.
"You're Logan Mulkey, right?" She questioned. God she's even prettier in real life and she's still holding my hand!
"Yup! That's me!" I laughed. Suddenly, I felt my phone buzzing.
Mama is calling...
"I'm sorry, I need to take this," I spoke, slowly removing my hand from hers. She nodded and gave me one of her signature smiles.
"Hey mama! What's up? Why did you call me so much?" I asked cheerfully.
"Hey baby, just wanted to make sure everything was okay. You haven't answered any of my calls or your sisters, hell, you haven't answered Paige's calls!" She laughed.
I love my mama. She always been a protective soul so I understand where she's coming from.
"I'm okay mama. Just moving into my apartment!" I tell her.
"Okay, I should probably let you go and finish than. I love you Tiger," She spoke softly.
"I love you mom," I finished and hung up.
"Sorry about that! Mom was wondering if I kidnapped," I joked to Caitlin.
"That's okay! Hey, do you want to go get a drink or something? A-After you're done of course," She stuttered.
