CHAPTER 6:The Pipers Song

i tried not to show any emotion. i tried as hard as i could to push the tears back. it worked. that one boy took my hand, and pulled me. the next thing i knew i was dancing around the fire. at first i wanted to show that i wasn't going to join in, but seeing that boy dancing made me want to, and i participated in the celebration. as i danced my eye caught the attention of pan. when i looked at him, i saw why i hadn't cut his throat yet. i might have a small crush on him. well it wasn't exactly a crush. i just thought that he was extremely good looking. but what girl wouldn't? i kept looking at him, and he looked at me. our eyes met, and after a like 10 seconds i looked away. but i could feel him still looking at me. and i didn't want him to turn away.

PETER'S POV:

Jai looked like she was actually having fun with the boys. i could tell that she didn't want to look at me, but that she didn't want me to look away. and i didn't. i looked at her dance and noticed that she was beautiful. i knew it before, but now i think that i might actually like her.

someone put a hand on my shoulder, and it startled me a bit. i saw that it was felix, and i gave Jai one last glance. i returned to him.

he looked at her, and smiled.

"why don't you just make her a lost girl. she's tough, and she has no family. well, she has her brother, but he doesn't matter."

"felix he does matter. she has to want to be a lost girl. she definitely has the lost part down though," i said.

"you know she would be a great lost girl. she has fire, she's tough, and like you said, she's lost," felix said. hearing this made me realize that i want her to stay. and i will do anything to keep it that way.

"well...lets make sure,"i whispered. i grabbed my pipe, and made my way over to a log which was beside the fire.

JAI'S POV

i felt him brush my body as he tried to get past. at first i didn't know who it was, so i looked, and saw him with his pipe. i looked away quickly, as i noticed that felix was looking at me.

"my name's caleb by the way," the one boy said. i smiled.

"jai. but you probably knew that already." he laughed, and i got a bit dizzy from dancing in a circle for the pat 10 minutes.

"i'm going to sit down for a bit," i told caleb.

"i'll join you," he replied. i smiled and we sat on a log across from pan.

"how old are you?"i asked.

"20," he said.

"wow. i thought that the lost boys were supposed to be... you know. boys." caleb chuckled.

"we have some younger ones. but the youngest that we have are about 12, and we only have 2 of those."

"how old is the oldest?" i asked.

"pan is. he's 21." i tried to fight it, but my body over powered my brain, and i stared up at pan. he looked at me, then looked away. i did as well, and looked up at Caleb. then i heard it. there was a beautiful sound of music. i cant exactly describe how it made me feel. but it sort of made me feel like i was at home.
