Work

Sadly, my drive back home wasn't nearly as fun as on the way to the candy store. Mostly because I remembered about the thing almost EVERYONE hates or despises in one way or another. Work. Work is probably the worst thing in this world, actually, it's most likely second to loneliness, but that's a story for another day. Anyway, I work with my mom who is an accountant. Yeah, you get the idea? Basically, I sit behind a desk and organize papers for a living.

"Dude, I just remembered I have to work today, I'm gonna have to drop you off at your house" I really didn't want to leave Ryder, I just wanted to chill and relax with him today, and probably watch a movie on Netflix together or something... That would be great.

"Damn, I just wanted to relax today, maybe watch Netflix or something. I'll text you then" did that just happen? I HAVE to skip out on work today then. Can't miss an opportunity like this..

Sadly, my very strict mother decided that I CAN miss this opportunity and is making me stay for work later than usual. How amazing!

"See ya'"

"Bye" we both had such glum looks on our faces, though can you blame us?

As I approached my humble abode, I felt my phone vibrate about... Let's say 10,000 times in my pocket. Ryder was probably getting bored already.

"Hey mom, how much work do I have today?" I probably shouldn't have asked that, seeing as how her answer might be worse than I expected.

"Lots and lots of it, so get started already."

I groaned, but then instantly smiled at the thought of texting Ryder back.

"What's the giant grin for?" My mom asked, but I was too busy typing away at my phone to hear anything she said.

"Teenagers"

Yeah I wish I was there too, we could have so much more fun than you just sitting at a desk ;)

Well that was interesting... Wonder what he meant by "you'll see soon enough." And what was up with all the winky faces? I did use one too though. Ah I shouldn't worry about it too much, it was probably just playful ,right?
