The teacher's sharp voice brought Taehyung to his senses, pulling him out of his slumber. "Kim Taehyung!" he shouted again, his tone laced with frustration.
Kim Taehyung groggily opened his eyes and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes as he walked up to the front of the class. The teacher handed him a piece of chalk and motioned for him to start solving the problem on the blackboard.
Taehyung let out a sigh, his shoulders slumping. He wasn't a math genius, and he knew he wouldn't be able to solve the problem in front of the class. But he couldn't admit that. So, he tried to concentrate, moving the numbers around in his head. But they just wouldn't make sense.
"Come on, Taehyung," the teacher said through clenched teeth. "What is three times six?"
He closed his eyes and counted on his fingers but to no avail. As he stood there, completely lost and confused, the teacher sighed in frustration.
"You have the SATs in two days, What are you going to do?" the teacher repeated, leaning against the blackboard.
"Why are you carrying around your brain? It must be so heavy," the teacher's voice echoed in Taehyung's mind as he suddenly jolted back into consciousness.
After being scolded by the teacher, Taehyung quietly returned to his seat, bowing his head in apology.
his mind drifting elsewhere. His eyes followed the drops of rain as they fell from the sky, counting each one: "Three, two, one..."
The bell finally rang, signaling the end of the class, and Taehyung felt a wave of relief wash over him.
