tatumn parker glided across the waves, there were 10 seconds left and she needed at least a score of 8.5 to bring her team on top of the leader board. everyone on the beach held their breath, they knew she could do it but she wasn't as confident.

she hadn't been as focused this season, and it definitely showed in past competition results. but today tatumn was determined, she carved out the wave before she pulled her signature aerial move, landing gracefully and pulling a snap move just as the buzzer sounded.

the under 18s held their breath on the shore, erupting into cheers when the scoreboard read 8.9. tatumn ran in, dropping her board as her team hugged her and lifted them above her head, all chanting her name as she brought them to victory.

the team collected their trophy's with pride, as the captain tatumn gave her speech with a smile.

"congratulations to all the other teams who competed today, there were some tough competitors out there but in the end we brought it home. it's great to see the hard work of my team members paying off. thanks to our coaches and sponsors and thanks to everyone being here today"

more cheers and celebrations erupt as the group took their photos. sebastian wrapped tatumn with a hug and did their secret handshake. "proud of you tay"

"thanks seb, proud of you too" they were the infamous parker twins. the two of them had grown up at the beach with their mother and had spent their childhood surfing. while sebastian lived and breathed the surfing life, tatumn was interested in other things as well. leading to distractions throughout the comp season.

the blonde boy threw his arm over his sisters shoulder as they walked back to their tent to start packing up. their mom winnie danced over to them, pulling them both close to her chest as she kissed them "my babies! you did so well out there, both of you"

"thanks ma" sebastian smiled. winnie was a single mom, their birth father had left when they were little and no one had heard from him since. but the twins nor their mother cared, it had been the three of them for forever and that's the way they preffered it. winnie was wild and always up for a good time, rarley was she ever strict with her kids. she was 38 and didn't look a day over 25.

sebastian walked towards their jeep, his head in his phone as he texted someone back. tatumn eyed him suspiciously as she packed the rest of her stuff and said goodbye to her team members. "get any calls?"

winnie shook her head, "not yet, but I'm sure you'll know soon"

"it's been months ma" the girl complained, sitting her board in the back of the car. "you'd think if i got the role than it wouldn't take forever"

"it's been a month tay, you're being dramatic" winnie flattened the girls hair with her hand. "paitence is a virtue my darling"

tatumn knew she was right, but she was so impatient, she'd wanted to act in zombies since the first movie came out. "but with surviving summer it was a couple weeks at most"

"different projects with different people. you need to understand that, the industry is tough"

"i know" the girl took her assigned seat in the back of the jeep, as according to sebastian because he was 2 hours older he got to ride shotgun all the time. "can we stop by tully's on the way home?"

sebastian glared at her through the rear view mirror "no way, i've got places to see, and people to be"

"right cause that makes so much sense dumbass" tatumn wouldn't lie, her brother had much less common sense than her. "please mom, i just want to get a coke and lifesavers"
