It's was a warm summer day , one of Athena first weeks in the beautiful Seoul, South Korea. She wasn't really sure how she felt about being a foreigner in another country. The weird looks , her English accent. See Athena was a beautiful 27 year old blonde with long hair and some piercing blue eyes . She had pale skin and freckles on her nose and cheeks. She doesn't have the normal American accent. She has a southern one. Athena was born and raised mainly in the state of Georgia. She grew up loving the outdoors and animals. She never listened to one type of music. She loved all different kinds. She was very afraid she would be judged for being a foreigner and not being fluent in Korean. She tried learning it but didn't have much luck back home since there weren't many ways for her to practice. Her family didn't really understand her love for learning it or the love of K-pop. Ya know , because she couldn't fully understand the lyrics but honestly she didn't care the music made her happy and made her want to just get up and dance. Also she found the group when she was going through a very extremely tough time and they made her actually enjoy life and smiling.
Athena eventually decided that she wanted to pack her bags , apply to a school in Korea so she can learn all about the culture of 8 boys she loved to listen too and watch. Athena's family was excited for her but very sad she was leaving . They were also very worried about her because she has never been so far away from home without her family . She did have her best friend Rayne and her beautiful Pomeranian Mochi . Rayne was also a very big fan of the boys and they talked about them all the time. They finally got the nerve to apply and travel together to learn how to understand some of their favorite people together. As they settled into their new apartment together they talked about all the things they'd see together while they studied abroad. Athena also questioned if they made the right decision because of her own fear and anxiety.
Athena: Rayne!!
Rayne: Yes Athena !?
Athena: Are you sure we made the right decision doing this?
Rayne: Yes Athena , how many times do I have to tell you this? We've both wanted this for a very long time, we tried studying ourselves but we never got anywhere. This is what's best.
Athena: I know you're right but I'm just so scared!What if I don't comprehend the curriculum? What if we get picked on for being foreigners and not knowing Korean? What if they laugh at our southern accents or can't understand us?
Rayne: I love you , but you overthink too much. You just need to relax Athena. You need to sit down and take a deep breath; think about how we can understand the meaning of the music , that we will learn how to read and communicate. That we will also be able to try all different kinds of food. Hell we may even run into the boys . You never know . You just need to learn to take everything day by day.
Athena listens to Rayne and decides to step out on their balcony porch to sit and take a breather . She ends up calling her mother on a FaceTime call just to hear her voice and so she can have a calming voice speak to her. Athena and her mother were really close; her mother was always there for her to listen to her complain , freak out over nothing and just be her full extreme self. Athena's mother was her rock and always had been. Athena's father was never really around much maybe some birthdays and Christmas but not always. Athena still loves her father very much and is close to him in different ways, she loved them both so much. After her phone call with her mother she has calmed down and went back in to help Rayne unpack the rest of their belongings. Athena looks over at Rayne and gave a mischievous look and a very sinister smile. Rayne looks back and Athena wondering what she has going through her mind.
Rayne: oh gosh what are you going to do!?
Athena: you'll see.
As she takes out her phone and hooks it to a speaker they had brought with them Athena starts playing GET LIT by Stray kids. They both begin dancing around like a bunch of maniacs. Mochi , Athena's dog decided to run and hide in Athena's room because all the dancing was freaking her out. Mochi was a very skiddish pup ever since she was a baby . That both plopped on the couch laughing and they look at each other.
Athena (finally catching her breath): Are you ready for this adventure Rayne?
Rayne: I'm ready for anything with you bestie!
