As Hyunjin and Athena are eating their breakfast Rayne walks back into the kitchen, Athena gives her a look. Rayne just looks at her confused.
Rayne: what Athena? Why are you looking at me like that?
Athena: I think I'm going to play hookie today, if you're okay with that?
Rayne: (looks back and forth between Athena and Hyunjin) Mhmm, I get it , sure it's fine , but you owe me!
Athena: Any idea on how?
Rayne: oh I wasn't talking to you. (She says with a smirk)
Hyunjin looks up confused; staring at Rayne.
Hyunjin: you talking to me?
Rayne: yes I am . Since you're stealing my best friend from me today. (She laughs)
Hyunjin: (he blushes) well how can I repay you?
Rayne: Set me up with Felix?
Hyunjin: hmmm I can see what I can do. I'm getting Chan to meet Athena today.
Rayne: you lucky bitch! (She says with a grin)
Athena: Hey now , chill out. (She says as she laughs)
As they sit there and talk before Rayne has to leave, it was a great breakfast together. They really enjoyed each other. Also it gave Hyunjin the chance to see Athena in a different light. She was very beautiful when she smiled and laughed and he couldn't help but take in the sound of her laugh. It made him just feel so at peace with himself. Rayne heads off to class and Hyunjin and Athena decide to cuddle up on the couch to watch a movie while they wait for the heads up that Chan is heading over. They snuggle up under a white fluffy blanket with Mochi laying next to them, they decide on an action movie. They didn't spend much time actually watching the movie they just talked about everything around the sun. He was curious as to what hardship got Athena into their music. He wasn't sure how to approach the question so he just thought he'd ask.
Hyunjin: May I ask you what was the hardship that got you into our music?
Athena: (looks a bit worried but decided to answer) You may, so a few years ago I got diagnosed with kidney failure and put on dialysis. It was a very overwhelming diagnosis and caused a lot of mental, physical & emotional pain. A lot of downs over those years. It's still a lot to deal with but I overcame a lot.
Hyunjin: is everything okay now? (The look of sadness over takes his eyes)
Athena: yeah I'm okay right now . This beautiful woman saved my life by her selfless act in giving me a kidney. I have many scars , but they are just a reminder that I can overcome anything. There were many times I just wanted to give up. The emotional toll it took was exhausting. It can still be a bit stressful because medications have to be on time everyday and I have to keep a check on my labs to make sure it doesn't reoccur.
Hyunjin: it can happen again? (He says with his voice trembling)
Athena: yeah it can and I worry all the time , but everything has been okay . So I try not to focus my energy on that .
Hyunjin: well I'm extremely proud of you and thankful you never gave up.
Athena just looks at him and smiles and just buries her head into his chest. She doesn't want him to notice but she does start to cry a little because that was a very tough thing for her to talk about; she's always afraid it may cause someone to run away. She's afraid that her own health issues will just scare someone away because it would be a lot for someone else to have to take on the burden of. Hyunjin notices her quiet sobs and places his hand on her chin to bring her head up.
Hyunjin: hey now what's wrong princess?
Athena: it's just a lot for me to talk about and for someone else to take in. I hope it doesn't scare you off.
Hyunjin: scare me? Absolutely not. You're a warrior and I appreciate you sharing that with me .
As they hear the credits playing on the movie Hyunjin's phone dings. It's Chan. He tells Athena that Chan says he's on his way and he will be there shortly. Athena starts to freak out a bit. She's gotta get ready and be presentable for Chan. She doesn't want to look like a wreck meeting the Chan. She looks at Hyunjin and smiles pats him on the chest and hops up from the couch.
Athena: IVE GOTTA GET READY!
Hyunjin: (he walks over to her) Calm down, it's going to be okay. Haha just breathe
Athena: (takes a few deep breathes) okay. I'm going o freshen up before he gets here. How long do I have?
Hyunjin: ummm about 20 mins?
Athena: okay I can do this!
Athena rushes into her room to the bathroom to put her hair in a messy bun and brush her teeth. Once she is done with that she has a quick pace to her closet. She decides to be cute but comfy; she puts on some black leggings with a white crop top and throws on a baby blue over sized button up shirt leaving it open like a jacket. She puts on some mascara and her favorite glasses. She also puts on some white socks and bunches them up over the bottom of the leggings. She walks out of her room & looks at Hyunjin. He looks at her in awe. No matter what she wears he just thinks she's beautiful. He is just staring at her; she giggles and just breaks the silence-
Athena: I take it this looks okay?
Hyunjin: (clears his throat) yes, yes you look great.
Athena: thank you. (She says with a smile) I'm going to pick up a bit before he gets here. I have about 10 mins and I can wash the dishes real quick .
Athena heads to the kitchen to clean up the mess from breakfast. There wasn't much to do but wash the plates they ate off of because Rayne already cleaned the stuff she used to cook with and for Athena to wipe off the counter. Right as she finishes cleaning up Hyunjin gets a text from Chan saying he's here. Athena's heart starts beating as she's nervous and wants to make a good impression. As she try's to collect herself and her thoughts to calm her anxiety she heard a knock at the door. She heads over to answer to the door. She opens it and it's Chan. He has on his black ball cap , black mask and a black sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.
Athena: Hello I'm Athena , it's nice to meet you; please come in.
Chan: hello Athena, I'm Chan . I've heard a lot about you. It's great to meet you too.
