Six months.
Six whole months they'd been apart.
The personification of England sat in the kitchen of his house in London with his usual cup of evening tea, and stared blankly out the window. Between his and America's busy schedules there had been no time for them to see each other at all, and the fact that they lived across the Atlantic from one another didn't help anything either. Sure, they had talked over the phone and stuff, but for the Brit it just wasn't enough. They hadn't seen each other since the last world meeting, and it was killing him. They were used to being apart for a month or two at the most, but half a year was a bit much. He was sure that America had to be upset to, since he was normally so clingy. He looked over at a picture on the counter, smiling to himself at the memory of it. America was holding up a peace sign with one hand, and had the other wrapped around a blushing England's shoulders, who was smiling ever so slightly with his arms crossed. 'I wish I could see him in person...' He thought to himself with a sigh. 'It's late, I might as well go to bed, theres nothing else to do but mope around.' He stood up with another sigh, leaving his tea cup on the table. He shuffled over to his room and opened his closet, turning to the side that America kept his clothes on. They kept clothes and other belongings at each other's houses, because they normally stayed together either in New York or London. He sighed and pulled out a white collared shirt that he found comfortable from America's side and changed into it. Since it was America's, it was naturally big on him, but he didn't care at all. It smelled like him, embarrassing as it was for the Brit to admit, that was one of the main reasons he liked to wear it. He put on a pair of comfortable pants and sat on his bed, pulling out his phone. Smiling to himself, he looked through some of their recent texts.
"I miss him..." He mumbled quietly to himself with another sad sigh. He looked over to the floor beside his bed where a few decorative pillows were laying. Most of them were union jack themed, but one stood out the most. It was an American flag pillow. America left it from the last time he was in London, so of course, England couldn't resist the urge to snuggle with it. The blonde picked it up and laid on his bed, burying his face in it. He knew he was being dramatic, but he couldn't help it. Six months was way too long. This is what he did when he wasn't preoccupied with anything. Sit and wish he could be with America. And no, he never cried. At least not hysterically. Okay maybe a few tears once or twice, but not too much.
"Bloody hell I really miss him..." He murmured into the pillow. He had nothing to do all day so the loneliness was a bit worse. It wasn't that he didn't like being alone, no he didn't mind that at all. He just didn't like being away from America. He could feel his eyes start to burn, and pushed his face further into the pillow, expecting it to be soaked in the next couple of minutes. A sudden knock at the door snapped him out of his thoughts. He sat up and rubbed his eyes, trying to pull himself together. He groaned and stood up, dropping the pillow on the bed and walked over to the door. 'I swear if it's France I'm going to punch his bloody lights out.' He opened the door about to yell at whoever decided to disturb him, but shut his mouth when he saw who was standing there.
"Alfred..." He gasped, covering his mouth.
"S'up?" America smiled.
England could feel a huge smile working its way onto his face and for once didn't try to stop it. He shook his head and jumped into the American's arms, laughing like the love-struck idiot he was.
"Artie!" America laughed happily, picking the Brit up and spinning them around. England's arms flew around the other's neck as he hugged him tight, burying his face into sandy blonde hair. America spun around again before setting the Englishman down, gently, still not letting him go. "I missed you~" He murmured sadly with glassy eyes.
