Screams echoed throughout the air as you tried desperately to find anyone who was still alive. This couldn't have gone more wrong… you thought to yourself as you ran through mutilated bodies. No matter how much you tried to get in contact with anyone, it didn't work. It's like the signal was being jammed. “Ms. Fluorite, w-what do we do!?” one of your underlings asked, panic lacing their voice.
“Keep searching for anyone who survived.. and if you see whoever did this, run. Do not fight back.” you ordered. It wasn't long till the screams died down, despite you nearing their source. You turned a corner to be met by a tall, muscular man with long black hair and a sword standing over a pile of your underlings. You froze, turning to tell your only surviving colleague to run. But before you even fully turned around, the man rushed forward in an instant, stabbing your colleague through the chest and killing him. You jumped as the man's red eyes pierced yours.
“One left…” he muttered under his breath. You started backing away from him, only finding yourself backed up against a wall. He smirked as he saw you there. He started to creep up closer to you, the tip of his sword dragging along the ground. This is it… I'm about to die to one of the most wanted criminals— Before you could finish your thought, the sword was stabbed directly next to you, pinning you against the wall.
“Now now… Bladie, trying to scare the poor girl to death, are we?” you heard a sultry voice tease from behind him. A tall woman with pink hair appeared behind him and smiled softly at you. “Hello dear… sorry for the mess~” she cooed. “You know who we are, don't you?” You nodded shakily as they looked at you expectedly. “Then enlighten me, who are we?”
“Y-you're… two criminals… wanted by the IPC…”
“My my, we have a smart one here!” she laughed. “You're correct dear… and you… you're Fluorite from the IPC.. otherwise known as Rhea… right?”
You froze as she mentioned your actual name. “H-how—”
“We have our ways…” she giggled. “Let's have a walk and talk, shall we?” she asked as the man's sword disappeared from the wall, freeing you slightly. You just nodded in compliance, knowing you weren't being given another choice. Blade scoffed in response as he backed off you, leaving some room in between the three of you. The woman took your hand before she began walking through the corpses of your underlings. “I'm sure you have a-lot of questions racing through your mind right now… they'll all be answered in due time. First, let me introduce myself. I'm Kafka. This here is Blade. As you know, we're Stellaron Hunters—”
“I-is there any reason why I'm still alive?? Or are you just toying with me??” you asked.
“Keep talking and I'll see to it that you regret it.” Blade spat.
“Bladie! That's no way to talk to our dear friend, now is it?” Kafka scolded before turning back to you. “Please do ignore him, he has had some trouble accepting this whole ordeal..”
You just muttered acknowledgement, still trying to wrap your head around why you weren't dead. “What do you want from me?” you finally asked.
“Cooperation. That's all.” Kafka smiled. “You want the power to change… right?” she asked. You didn't answer. “What I mean is, you want to be something more than what you are. You want the power to impact the world. We can provide you with just that.”
“H-huh?”
“All we ask in return is for you to help us as well.” Kafka finished with a sly smile.
“Why would you, of all people, need my help?” you asked. Blade in response just groaned while Kafka laughed lightly. Your words hung heavy in the air as you continued walking. Kafka nor Blade answered you, letting your thoughts stir endlessly. You glance at Blade, noticing how he refuses to look at you or Kafka.
“You want to live, no?” Kafka asks, snapping you out of your thoughts.
“What?”
“You want a life better than your own, right?” she cooed. “We can provide you with just that, you can finally know what it’s like to be alive.”
You looked down before letting out a shaky breath. “Y-you serious?”
“Very. The IPC won’t own you anymore. So, what do you say? Do you want to know what life truly is?”
Before you knew it, you were now working with the Stellaron Hunters. Well, “working”. You haven't actually done anything with them yet. All you did was accept their proposal.
Kafka smiled at you, “You accept? Fantastic! That makes things so much easier for us!” She practically beamed as she texted someone. Suddenly, the world around you changed to somewhere unknown. A silver haired girl stood before you, eyeing you and smirking.
“Sweet, new member.” she snickered. “Who knew Elio was right about that..”
“He's always right…” Blade sighed before walking away to a corner of the room. You looked back at the girl and identified her to be Silver Wolf. Great… you're surrounded by wanted criminals.
“Bladie, me and Wolfy will inform Elio of our friend's choice. Do try to be nice, will you?” Kafka said as her and Silver Wolf walked out of the room. You eyed Blade for a moment. He was covered in the blood of your coworkers, the very people you were supposed to be protecting.
“Don't give me that look.” Blade spat suddenly causing you to slightly jump. You instantly averted your eyes to the floor. In response, Blade scoffed. “Just be glad it wasn’t you.”
You shakily nodded, “R-right…”
