Bittersweet - Gajevy AU

Chapter 1

"Gajeeeel~" a sing-songy voice said softly as she gently shook Gajeel who remained asleep.

"GAJEEL!!!" the voice that was no longer sing-songy or soft yelled and Gajeel groaned as he opened his eyes to see his cousin Wendy Dragneel at his bedside.

"Morning Wend, what day is it?" the latter asked as he ruffled Wendy's long blue hair and got out of bed.

"Monday, which means today is your first day at Fairy Hills!" she exclaimed excitedly and Gajeel groaned again.

"Aww c'mon it won't be that bad! That girl you sometimes talk about named Juvia, she transferred there too!" Wendy beamed and Gajeel looked at her slightly shocked but it didn't really show.

"So that's where she transferred to..." he eventually said as he put on a Fall Out Boy shirt and black jeans.

"Yeah, I have a feeling that mom's almost done with breakfast so I'll see you downstairs in a sec!" Wendy smiled cheerfully and merrily skipped out of Gajeel's room. When Gajeel finished changing, he brushed his long black spiky hair and slicked it back before going to the bathroom to brush his teeth.

"Do you not know what privacy is!?" Gajeel's other cousin Natsu who was in the shower asked slightly annoyed.

"It's not my fault there's only one bathroom" Gajeel protested and began to brush his teeth.

"So you nervous about your first day at Fairy Hills?" Natsu asked curiously.

"Why would I be nervous about a place with the words 'fairy' and 'hills' in the name?" Gajeel asked rhetorically after spitting out a mouthful of toothpaste.

"Touché" Natsu commented as Gajeel put his toothbrush back in the holder and left the bathroom before going back to his room to grab his bag and then headed downstairs.

"Morning Gajeel~" Grandeeny said smiling as she layed 4 plates of bacon, eggs, and toast for them all except Wendy who had just toast, 2 cups of coffee for her and Gajeel, and 2 cups of orange juice for Natsu and Wendy all on the table.

"Morning" Gajeel greeted a little half asleep as he sat down and took a sip of his coffee. Pantherlily, who had been Gajeel's cat for about 8 years pawed at the latter's left leg, Gajeel smiled a little as he stroked Lily's back gently and the cat purred affectionately.

"Aww~" Wendy beamed from her seat to his left and Lily looked over at the bluenette with what she shortly described as "The most kawaii look ever!~" and the black cat found a comfortable place on top of a brown recliner. Natsu walked down the stairs changed yet his hair was kinda damp and he took a seat next to Wendy.

"Hey Gajeel I saw you had a few instrument cases and an amp, what do you play?" he asked curiously as he ate a piece of bacon.

"Bass and electric guitar" Gajeel responded although that wasn't entirely true, he also loved playing the acoustic guitar but he didn't really like admitting it.

"There's a performing arts group at school called Fairy Tail, I could probably get you in" Natsu offered before he took a sip of his orange juice.

"Do I have to audition or something?" Gajeel asked as he finished off one of his eggs and Natsu nodded.

"Yep but only in front of Fairy Tail's president, Erza Scarlet" the latter responded.

"Alright, it's not like I've got anything else to do" Gajeel agreed and Natsu smiled eagerly.

"Great! I'll tell Erza and you can audition after school right before we start our activities!~" he beamed excitedly and before he began excessive rant about the group Wendy stopped him.
