Another chapter! (Art by me)
After Dragonfly got over panicking about how he'd explain to his parents how he got clawed to death by a NightWing, he actually took a look at her.
She looked around the same age as Dragonfly, maybe a tiny bit older. She had two teardrop scales next to her eyes and wings covered in stars. She seemed to glitter in the sunlight, casting dark purple rays on the ground.
"Hello there. My name is Jewelseeker. What are you doing here strange dragonet?" Jewelseeker leaned down to inspect Dragonfly. "You don't look like any RainWing I've seen before...Are you a hybrid?" She looked at Dragonfly expectantly. "Hello?" She tapped a claw on his head. "Anybody in there?" Dragonfly jumped slightly. He had been distracted by the silver scales by her eyes.
"Oh! Hi. I'm Dragonfly. Nice to meet you." He extended his talon for a talon shake. Instead, Jewelseeker grabbed his arm and poked it.
"What are you doing?!" Dragonfly exclaimed and pulled his hand away. "I was wondering what kind of RainWing you were." She answered nonchalantly.
"I'm not a RainWing, I'm a hybrid. A RainWing/HiveWing hybrid." Dragonfly wondered how she'd react to that. Not many people had met HiveWings before.
"OMIGOSH THAT'S SO COOL!" Jewelseeker gushed. "I've never met a hybrid before! Or a HiveWing for that matter. Have you ever been to Pantala before? Do you know what it's like there?" Dragonfly was stunned for a second at her response. She thinks being a hybrid is cool? Does that mean she thinks I'm cool?
"Um, I've never been to Pantala personally, but my mom is from Pantala." Jewelseeker's eyes lit up. "Does she ever talk about Pantala?" "Not too much." Dragonfly thought about it for a second. He knew all about his father's life before Dragonfly had hatched, but come to think of it, his mother never really talked about her old life in Pantala. Maybe it's because I've never asked. He thought to himself.
"I can ask her when I come home," Dragonfly offered, getting excited himself. "That sounds perfect," said Jewelseeker. Dragonfly grinned.
"But one thing before I go..." Dragonfly looked around. "Do you know which way the RainWing Village is?"
Sorry about the short chapter! Nothing much happened in this one, but the next one will be (hopefully) better.
