After June and Arden left I was alone with Cody and his friends.
"Wow. Those girls sure didn't want to hang out with us. At least this pretty little one stayed," one of his friends said while looking at me.
"Mitch. Stop." Cody said. I didn't realize he was so protective of me.
"So, which one are you anyway?" Mitch asked.
"I'm Ronnie." I said
"Ronnie, there's Mitch, River, Tommy, and Levi." Said Cody.
Mitch had black hair and was kind of creepy, if you ask me. Tommy was a blonde, and Levi a brunette. River was a brunette too, but he was the one who stood out to me, the one who jumped on Cody's back. He's so cute, I can't stop staring at him. Cody broke the silence.
"Let's go to my house so we can get my car, it's way too hot out here."
When we got to Cody's house we all went to pile in his car. He was driving with Mitch in the passengers seat. Then Tommy, Levi and River got in the back. That's when we realized there was no room for me.
"Man I don't want to walk in this heat you're going to have to make it work," Cody said.
"How?" I asked.
He looked over at River in the back of the car.
"You have to sit on his lap."
"Um... I just met him."
"Come on, he doesn't bite!" Mitch said, "Although he might grab your butt."
"Dude!" River said.
"Come on Ronnie, pleaaassseee." Cody said.
I looked at River, he just kind of looked at me like "might as well." So I sat on him. I just met this gorgeous guy and I'm sitting on him. Well that's not weird at all.
"So." River said, "I'm in for a big ass kicking from your boyfriend now, aren't I?"
"I don't have a boyfriend."
"Really? That's surprising I just assumed you had one."
"Why?"
"Well you're really pretty and from what Cody has told us you seem really nice too."
"Ooooooh someone likes Ronnie." Levi said.
"I don't like her guys come on I barely even know her!"
"Then stop flirting with her, man." Tommy said.
"I'm not even flirting with her you're going crazy."
"Okay everyone stop harassing River about his obvious flirting with Ronnie." Cody said, "What do you guys want to-"
"I VOTE LAKE" Mitch screamed.
I could tell that I was either going to love Mitch or want to rip his face off. He's just got one of those personalities.
"Yeah let's just go there it's so hot." Tommy said.
Cody started driving to my house and I went inside to get into my bathing suit then I got back in the car and we went to everyone else's house. I guess Mitch's parents were gone for most of the summer so he took a couple of their beers and put them in a cooler.
"My goal for today is to get your little Ronnie drunk," Mitch said to Cody.
"Mitch, Ronnie's not an idiot like you."
That made the others laugh.
"How's it going back there?" Cody asked.
"I'm fine," River said, "Are you comfortable Ronnie?"
"Yeah I'm fine."
When we got to the lake we all got out of the car and Mitch jumped in right away. Not a surprise. Then every one else took their shirts off to go swimming. River was shirtless right in front of me, and I didn't mind it one bit.
Cody, Tommy and Levi all jumped in and then as River was walking he turned around and looked at me.
"You coming?"
"Yeah," I said and then took off my clothes so I was in my bathing suit. We walked to the edge and he jumped off, I went after him.
We were swimming for a while and then we all got out to take a break. Mitch grabbed the beers and handed one to everyone.
"Want one?" He asked me.
"No I'm good."
"What a surprise, pure little Ronnie doesn't drink."
I sighed and then looked at him. "I do, just not with you."
"Yeah," Cody said, "She only got drunk once and boy was that a good time."
Everyone looked at me.
"What happened?" Tommy asked.
"Let's just say I woke up on Cody's floor with a pounding head ache." I said.
"Did you guys-" Levi started.
"No no no no no," Cody said.
"Nothing happened trust me." I said. "Did you bring any soda?"
"Yeah," Mitch said and handed me a coke.
After a while of joking around Levi got up to go into the lake.
"Hey Ronnie, mind if I throw you in the lake?" Mitch asked.
"Hey Mitch, mind if I do this?" I said and then pushed him off the edge and we all laughed. After Tommy and Levi went in Cody looked at River as if they had some secret code and then River started running towards me.
Next thing I know he picked me up and I screamed and put my arms around him and he jumped into the lake.
"Oh my god I wasn't expecting that!" I said.
"Exactly," River said, "it was a sneak attack."
"Well done. I'm not very good at sneak attacks."
"You aren't?"
"I don't know, am I?" I asked and then dunked him under the water. He pushed himself up and started laughing. "Well I guess you are good at sneak attacks. You're like a ninja."
We both looked at each other and laughed. I was really starting to get feelings for him. He probably doesn't feel the same way, I wish he did.
River's POV
On our way home from the lake Ronnie was sitting on my lap again. I think I'm falling for her. I wonder if she feels the same way.
