Jasnoor Kaur Aulakh

As I sat by the window, watching the city skyline shimmering in the soft light of dawn, I couldn't help but reflect on the journey that had brought me to this moment. It had been a whirlwind of emotions, filled with ups and downs, twists and turns, but through it all, one thing remained constant – my love for Sehej.

As I gazed out at the world waking up around me, I felt a sense of peace settle over me, like the calm after a storm. The events of the past few months had been overwhelming at times, but they had also been incredibly transformative, shaping me into the person I was meant to be.

I thought back to the day Sehej had proposed to me, the memory still fresh in my mind like it had happened just yesterday. The joy and excitement that had filled my heart in that moment were indescribable, and I knew without a doubt that I had made the right decision in saying yes.

But our journey hadn't been without its challenges. There had been moments of doubt and uncertainty, times when it felt like the weight of the world was bearing down on us. Yet through it all, Sehej had been my rock, my constant source of strength and support.

As I turned my attention inward, I couldn't help but marvel at the resilience of the human spirit. Despite the obstacles we had faced, we had emerged stronger and more united than ever before, our love for each other serving as a beacon of hope in the darkest of times.

I glanced over at Sehej, who was still sleeping peacefully beside me, his features softened by the gentle light of dawn. In that moment, my heart swelled with love for him, grateful for the privilege of sharing my life with such an incredible man.

"Good morning, my love," I whispered, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead.

Sehej stirred awake, his eyes fluttering open as he smiled up at me. "Good morning, Jasnoor," he murmured, his voice filled with warmth and affection.

As we lay there together, basking in the quiet stillness of the morning, I knew that no matter what the future held, we would face it together – hand in hand, heart to heart.

And as the sun rose higher in the sky, casting its golden light over the world below, I felt a sense of gratitude wash over me, knowing that I was exactly where I was meant to be – in the arms of the man I loved, ready to embrace whatever adventures lay ahead.

Four years had passed since Sehej and I had exchanged vows, promising to love and cherish each other for all eternity. In that time, our love had blossomed and grown, deepening with each passing day, until it had become the foundation upon which our entire lives were built.

As I looked around our cozy home, filled with the laughter and joy of our little family, I couldn't help but marvel at how far we had come. The walls were adorned with photographs capturing precious moments from our journey together – our wedding day, vacations spent exploring new places, and the everyday moments that made up the tapestry of our lives.

In the corner of the room, a small crib stood, adorned with soft blankets and stuffed animals, a testament to the newest addition to our family – our daughter, Jeeti. Her arrival had been the greatest blessing of all, filling our home with even more love and laughter than we could have ever imagined.

As I sat in the nursery, watching Jeeti sleep peacefully in her crib, I felt a surge of love and gratitude wash over me. She was the light of our lives, a precious gift that we cherished with every fiber of our beings.

"Hey there, sleepyhead," I whispered, gently brushing a stray lock of hair from her forehead. "Did you have sweet dreams?"

Jeeti stirred awake, her eyes fluttering open as she let out a small yawn. "Mama," she cooed, reaching out her tiny arms towards me.

I scooped her up into my arms, cradling her close to my chest as I rocked her gently back and forth. "That's right, sweetheart," I said, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "I'm right here."

As I held my daughter in my arms, I couldn't help but marvel at the miracle of her existence. She was a perfect blend of Sehej and me, with his dark hair and my sparkling eyes, a constant reminder of the love that had brought her into the world.

Just then, Sehej appeared in the doorway, a smile spreading across his face as he watched us together. "Hey, you two," he said, crossing the room to join us. "How's my favorite girls doing?"

"We're doing just fine," I replied, smiling up at him. "Jeeti was just waking up from her nap."

Sehej leaned down to press a kiss to Jeeti's forehead, his eyes shining with love and pride. "Hey there, little one," he murmured, brushing his fingers through her soft curls. "Did you have a nice sleep?"

Jeeti giggled in response, reaching out to grab his finger with her tiny hand. "Dada," she babbled, her eyes sparkling with delight.

Sehej's heart melted at the sound of her sweet voice, his love for her evident in every word and gesture. "That's right, sweetheart," he said, his voice filled with tenderness. "I'm your dada."

As we sat together in the nursery, surrounded by the warmth and love of our little family, I knew that I was exactly where I was meant to be – in the arms of the man I loved, with our precious daughter nestled safely between us. And as we looked towards the future, filled with endless possibilities and adventures yet to come, I felt a sense of peace settle over me, knowing that as long as we had each other, we could weather any storm that came our way.
