I was sitting on my bed (well, it's not really my bed, I just choose this room all the time because I like it the most. Don't judge me!) trying to occupy myself while my parents talk about something downstairs. They never let me know what their conversations are about, which is obviously reasonable, but sometimes I feel like they talk about me.

People talk about me all the time, which is something I totally understand. Why wouldn't they? But they're not all good things. People say I'm an airhead, and I only found out what that was because I thought it was a compliment. It wasn't. I think it just comes with being the person everyone wishes they were.

I fiddled with my mother's bracelet, staring at it as if I took my eyes off it for one second, it'd disappear. Clarah was sitting at my vanity, strangely putting her hair in a braid just to take out again. For the fifth time. Clarah was weird like that, that's why I like her. Pretty girls can be weird too, y'know? My arm was starting to bore me (Sorry mom!) so I got up from my bed, my sock-covered feet softly hitting the floor to walk up to my window.

Like I expected, nothing but forest for miles. I walked up to one of my longer mirrors and tried to seek entertainment in my reflection. Of course as always I looked... wait a minute. What was that? I turned around quickly to see nothing. Weird.

I looked back into the mirror, and my heart almost came out through my mouth. The mirror clattered to the floor as I fell down, kicking it in the process. The ghost bride from school was here!? Clarah looked worriedly down at me, leaving her braid half-done, half-out. "You okay?" She asked me. "Yeah, I'm cool." I was not cool. My summer house was haunted too!?

I got up and went to Cass' room, I was far too scared to be in mine right now. "Oh hi, Harmony." She said nonchalantly, not even looking at me when I walked in. What a broad. "Hi Cassandra." I replied and then she finally looked up at me. She raised an eyebrow at me in suspicion. "Everything okay?" "No, not at all." "Oookay. Wanna tell me what's up?" I sighed and put on the best serious face I could. "I think this house is haunted." Cassandra stared blankly at me for a few seconds before she burst into laughter. This was probably the first time I've ever seen her laugh.

"Harmony..." She began, but I didn't want to hear it. "I'm telling the truth!" I angrily cut her off. And just at that moment, my dad walked in. "Hey family, what's going on?" He asked. I turned back to look at Cass but something out the window caught me eye and my dad immediately pulled me back. He looked worriedly at Jess then called Clarah. He gave her a look and her eyes widened. "Guys, what's going on?" I asked them. We all walked down to the kitchen. "Dad... I swear I'm not lying when I say this." "I know, honey." Finally. Someone believed me.

"And that's why you have to leave." My smile fell. "What? But-" My dad looked over to Clarah. "Do you promise to protect my daughter?" We all heard a window breaking and I felt like crying. What was going on!? "Clarah, do you promise?" Clarah nodded firmly. "Harmony we have to go. Now." I stammered over my words. "What? Why?" Cass began to cry into her hands as Dad comforted her and the floor began to shake. "Girls, get out of here now!" I didn't know what else to do as I looked at my parents one last time. I took Clarah's hand as we both ran out into the backyard, racing into the forest. A deep rumble sounded behind us and I stopped suddenly.

A blazing fire from underneath the house had spilt it in two and burned it down. With my parents inside. I started sobbing.
