'this beginning is like a summary of the prologue, just with different detail cause it's real good and we couldn't leave it out, so yeah :p'
Screaming.
It's all the poor thing could remember. Screaming and, well, the searing pain in his back. He struggled to look up or even open his eyes. He heard his father. He remembered that too. And glimpsed his mother's head being chopped off.
No.
He couldn't take the pain. He could still feel the blade piercing through his spine. The scarring across his face. It bled. Gushing crimson all over his pudgy hands. He choked out a small, high-pitched sob. He was only a child after all. A toddler, even. He didn't deserve this. He didn't even understand it really.
He was starting to get woozy.
The trees above him began to spin. The sound of whatever creatures lie, lurking in the shadowed greens filled his ears. The gloomy weather shoved past the crinkled leaves, knocking them from the branches, and to the forest floor around him. They cracked like old bones. And crumpled atop his bloody frame.
Before he blacked out, he witnessed his father get stabbed with a blade. A light came from his father's face. His mouth opened and he let out the most guttural scream the toddler had ever heard another being muster.
That's when everything went blank.
He awoke to a ringing in his ears. And the pain, present. The weather was warm against his skin. When he sat up, he took notice of his busted up knees. It must've occurred when the Angels shoved him. And tried to bury him deep in the dirt with the worms.
The toddler's face creased into a frown. His bottom lip slightly jutted out. His eyes filled to the brim with tears. Where was his father ? His mother ? Where was he ? What was this place ? Why was his chest so heavy ?
He wanted to cry.
He hiccuped. His chest heaved. And he began to sob. The curled up, crying four year old hadn't even noticed the figure lurking behind him. Weary of the young boy's presence.
"Hello ?" Came a soothing voice. The brunette toddler sat and whipped his head around. His eyes terrified and searching. He found a sweet looking boy staring down at him. His lip quivered.
"Who are you ?" He murmured. His tone wavering. The kid frowned. Pitifully, if you'd have asked the Lonnalie.
"I'm Gabriel. Here, let me help you." The strange boy rested two fingers upon his forehead and his eyes closed. Suddenly, his knees didn't ache. His head wasn't flooding with images of his dead parents. And, the ringing in his ears had ceased.
When he peeked up at Gabriel, the Angel was grinning. Until they heard a voice or two. "C'mon Gabriel, it's time to head back now!"
"Yeah, you better hurry up or we'll leave you here!"
The boy got up, pulling Lonnie with him and huffed. "Those are my brothers. I guess I better go." The kid nodded. "Okay."
"What's your name?"
"Lonnalie."
"Well, it was nice to meet you, Lonnie. Bu-bye now!" Gabriel waved a goodbye as he ran to his younger and elder brothers. The smaller, a dirty blonde, as well as the eldest. Lonnie watched Gabriel take the oldest's hand as they made their way home. Blabbing about his newfound friend.
The boy almost jumped out of his skin at the sound of mumbling. Distant speaking. "Holy- Jeez." He refrained from using any profanities. For fear of lecture. He'd fallen asleep at his desk again. The teacher had stopped mid-sentence to gawk at him. Her cheeks a soft red. Spooked by his outburst."Mr. Lovat. Something to share with the class ?" She asked, a hint of annoyance hung above her head. To which, he gulped.
"No ma'am."
