Lonnie awoke the next morning to a burning sensation against his eyelids. He groaned and tried to shoo away the attacking force. Once well aware that he physically couldn't, he let out a loud -- dramatic sigh. Lonnie then sits himself up on his side, elbow keeping him sturdy, and glares right out the window. His eyes staring down the Sun. He murmured a few not so nice words under his breath. His jaw clenched and he looked to the Heavens. Then fell back against the soft, knitted quilt pillows. His wavy hair brushed up on his cheeks and he ran his hands through it. Not a wash day. Perfect.
And yes, he knew demons and angels didn't need hygienic days but he still felt obligated. Lucifer had been strict on keeping up with a routine. And he couldn't argue with Satan. Well, he tried to. Didn't end well, you know?
Lonnie pulled the quilt off off him and swung his legs over the side of the bed. The pajamas he'd been gifted for the night were a bit small. So when he stretched, the shirt rose up just enough for somebody to see his stomach and v-line. He'd gotten a few compliments over the years but he never truly understood the attraction toward the bodily feature.
After stretching and waking himself up a bit more, he headed to the bathroom. Only a few steps over from the room he was staying in. He clicked the light on and messed with his hair for a bit in the mirror. Then flicked the light off and hopped his merrily ass down the stairs.
When he came around the corner, he noticed that Bobby was already up. Nice to know he didn't just up and leave without a word. Like somebody he knew
"Mornin' kid. Those look a little short on ya." He chuckled. Lonnie's cheeks flared up. "Karen said it was all you had. I forgot to pack some."
"Guess we better get you out to the store later. We'll find you some. Sound good?" The boy nodded. "Okay."
"So how'd you sleep? Wasn't too cold was it?" Lonnie shook his head. He was used to the cold, if he even felt any. "Why do you ask?"
"Karen and I been feeling cold spots." He pointed out. Karen poked her head in from the kitchen. She was holding a bowl and a whisk, mixing something up. She pulled the whisk from the bowl, batter dripping down it, and used it to gesture to Bobby. "I'm telling you it's a ghost."
"Oh, it's not a ghost." He pressed. As if attempting to make himself believe it more than his wife. His attention turned back to the boy. "Our heater has always messes up when up and running for the cold seasons." Lonnalie thought for a second. "I could take a look at it after breakfast. My dad taught me a bit about mechanic work."
"Really? Well that's handy." Bobby seemed impressed. It caused Lonnie's chest to tighten. What was this feeling? Pride? Joy? A little smidge of both? He couldn't tell to be fairly truthful.
"Not yet. Breakfast is almost ready." She says matter of factly. Bobby nods and gets up to follow her into the kitchen. Lonnie heads in after him. Arms behind his back and hands together. All polite-like.
He wasn't sure how to act. He was never ever around this many humans in such a personal space.
"Well don't just stand there. Come have a seat, dear." Karen gestured for the boy to come in and he does so. Taking a seat at the opposite end from Bobby. Karen sat down to Lonnie's right. Breakfast looked amazing. Tasted even better.

After consuming at least three platefuls of food, Lonnie thanked the two for breakfast, and headed back up to his claimed room. He changed rather quickly and bounded back down the steps. Barely bothering to take more than a peek in the mirror. His curly hair was a mess but he'd deal with it later. And his under liner was smudged, but he liked it that way.
He stopped in the living room, smiling wide. "Come on Bobby!" He waved the boy off and slipped into his coat. "I'm coming, I'm coming. Being old only makes you go so fast." Lonnalie laughs at this and walks up to Bobby. He slips his arm under Bobby's and pulls him toward the door. "I don't think you're that old." It made the man smile. "You'd be the first. Karen says I'm so old she hears my knees creak." He chuckles. "Oh I do not, Robert SInger!" They hear Karen object from inside the house as they step out onto the porch and shut the door.

Lonnie can't help but to bounce around in his seat as they near the shopping plaza next to the carnival. He'd only been to one once before and it was many years ago. With his dad of course. Well, second dad. He was seeming to wrack up in dad numbers. He currently had three. And two mothers. He'd have three of each but Lucifer was about as gay as he was. And had no flow to conversation on dates. So, you know.

"We're going in to grab stuff for the cars, your clothes, then we can stop at the carnival. But only for a short while. Karen'll throw the biggest fit if we aren't home before dinner." Lonnie's heart squeezed at the mention of a particular house placement just for him.

Lonnie pushed the door outward, hands full. Bobby stepped out after him. "Thank you, Lee." The boy nodded and followed the man out to his truck. They set everything in the truck bed. "You still want to go to that carnival?" Lonnie beamed. "Yes! That would be splendid." Bobby gestured toward the ticket booth. "Come on, then."
When they get to the ticket booth, Bobby's got his wallet out and slides the ticket lady a $10. She hands them back two wristbands and they put them on. "You got one too? Does that mean you'll go on rides with me!" Lonnalie squealed, arm on Bobby's shoulder. The older man grumbled. He couldn't say no now. "Maybe just one." Lonnie grabbed Bobby's arm. "This is gonna be great! We'll get funnel cake and -" His eyes had found their way to the crowd and he recognized somebody. Who was evidently staring right back. He'd notice that hair and grin anywhere. "Gabriel?"  Bobby turned his head. "Lee, you okay?" The boy lit up like a star and dashed toward the man. He ran through the crowd and jumped into the angel's arms. The guy hugged him back. "Oh my god, oh my god! Gabriel!" The man laughed and spun Lonnie around in a circle. Leaving a few kisses against the boy's cheeks. "Goodness! I've missed you, kid." He hugged back, arms holding Lonnie tight. Though Lonnie was holding on tighter. He couldn't believe it. When Gabriel set him down, they were both smiling like idiots. "When did you get here? I thought you needed somebody with you?" The Angel wondered, glancing around for a frantic demon, missing a prisoner. "He deemed me ready to be up here alone. And I'm on my first mission!" He whispered and jumped up and down. Gabriel did too. "That's amazing! That means we can see each other all the time now." Lonnie nodded as Bobby walked over. He stopped beside the boy. "Gonna introduce me to your friend?" He rasped. "Oh! Right. Bobby this is Gabriel, my friend from my old town. Gabriel, this is Bobby, my uh" He looked to Bobby for an answer. He didn't know what to call the man. Bobby extended his hand. "Lonnie's guardian." Gabriel shook his hand. "It's nice to meet you, sir."
Bobby gave him a look over and cock of his eyebrow. "Yeahhhh" He drug the word out, staring him down like a true dad.

After the fair, Lonnie tiredly smiled up at the Angel. Gabriel leaned down and planted a kiss against Lonnalie's forehead. It caused the Leviapid's eyes to glow. Bobby was watching them carefully and caught the light. His eyes squinted. Was that coming from Lee? He shook it off as the boy ran over. Waving his arm high for Gabriel to see.

Once they were back at the Singer residence, Lonnie bid both Karen and Bobby a goodnight before heading up to bed. The day had exhausted him and he was ready for a nap. He kicked off his shoes and pants, then tugged his shirt off over his head. Lonnie crawls into the bed and covered himself with the quilt. He tried closing his eyes and steadying his breath. Hoping it'd help him sleep.
Though he failed, vividly seeing the Angel's face in mind. He grinned sleepily and cuddled farther under the covers.

Oh, how he missed Gabriel.
