"Lee, come here quick! The dragonfly's about to fly away!" A small boy around four or five years called out to another tan boy who followed after the boy with a glimmer in his soft brown eyes. Seeing that the latter was following, the boy took off after a black dragonfly with iridescent coloured wings that looked blue with bits of vibrant yellow and pink.

The little dragonfly flew through the sky with ease, maneuvering its way around the excited boys teeming with energy. It's pace was steady, not too fast nor too slow, the boys might've even caught it if they really wanted to. But they didn't try.

As they were chasing the flying insect around, one of the boys, Lee, spoke up, "An, do you think it likes us? It doesn't look scared or look like it's trying to fly away quickly," he then glanced at An who stopped chasing and stood close by a pond just up ahead of them, seemingly staring at nothing but Lee knew, it was the dragonfly.

An stayed quiet for a while as he waited for Lee to catch up to him, then turned around to face the tan boy and spoke quietly, "Or maybe it's used to other kids chasing it around? Maybe that's why it's not scared..." Lee also stood still, pondering what An said then he walked past An and crouched down close to the pond and just sat there, staring off into space. An, feeling a bit impatient, walked closer to where Lee crouched and asked, "Do you agree with me?"

"I don't know," Lee answered as he moved over a bit so An could also crouch down and watch the quaint little pond where the dragonfly currently lay. It was still, not moving, seemingly observing the two boys with its two big beady eyes. The boys also stared back, it was like a staring contest except the dragonfly looked as though it were wearing sunglasses. It was hard to guess where or who its actual gaze was on.

This continued for a few more minutes before a loud lady's voice sounded from somewhere in the backdrop. The voice seemed to yell out, It's dinner time, kids, the boys thought that it belonged to the orphanage not far from here. Then the boys stood up and waved goodbye to each other, unaware that this would be their last meeting.
