CHAPTER 10 : TWO BODIES BECAME ONE

As the party drew to a close, Krit found himself in a serious conversation with Thea's father. It was during this discussion that he learned about the plan to distance Thea from her obsessed ex, Dan. Thea's father revealed that Dan, a former gangster with a history of assault, had become dangerously fixated on Thea, constantly following her wherever she went.

Realizing the importance of Thea and her family to Krit, he agreed to pretend to be Thea's fiancé. This decision not only protected Thea but also gave Krit a valid reason to keep his distance from Pavel, whom he knew only saw him as a friend. Despite his growing feelings for Pavel, Krit resolved to respect Pavel's decisions, even if it meant waiting a long time to see him or escort him to his own wedding.

Before returning home, Krit had come to terms with the need to curb his feelings and maintain his composure. Perhaps it was time to put an end to his madness, cease waiting indefinitely, and stop forcing himself into situations that were not meant to be.

As the cheerful news headlines were being written, Pavel sat in silence, his thoughts clouded by a mix of emotions he couldn't quite understand. He felt a deep ache and fear whenever he thought about the possibility of Krit leaving him once he got married. Yet, he hesitated to confess his own feelings, especially after learning that Krit was engaged to Thea.

When Krit returned from the hotel and found Pavel still absent, he took a quick shower, changed into his black pajamas, and settled on the sofa to watch the news while drying his hair. Suddenly, the door creaked open, revealing a drunken Pavel struggling to stand. Krit immediately went to him, offering support and guiding him to his room. With swift movements, Krit fetched water and a towel, gently tending to Pavel.

Pavel looked up at Krit, his eyes searching, and finally spoke, "Aren't you tired of waiting for the one you love?"

Krit was left speechless by Pavel's question, but he managed to reply, "I may get tired, but I will wait for him and hold onto hope as long as he's not married yet. I respect his decision."

Pavel then pointedly asked Krit, "If you're waiting for him, why did you come home and announce to the world that you're getting married?"

Startled by Pavel's accusation, Krit gently held Pavel's hand and looked into his eyes, saying, "I'm tired; I'm leaving. Rest here."

Just as Krit was about to leave, Pavel grabbed his hand and confessed with a mixture of fear and desperation, "Are you going back to him? Why didn't you wait for me? Do you know how hard it is for me to decide whether to accept your confession? I'm afraid because you're like a brother to me, and I fear making the wrong choice. Since you left, I've been confused about whether I like you as you or as my brother. But I'm afraid that I'll lose you or no longer be part of your future. I know it's late, but I like you so much. I'm sorry."

The tension between them was palpable, filled with unspoken emotions and uncharted territory. As Krit stood there, conflicted and taken aback by Pavel's confession, the weight of their unspoken feelings hung heavy in the air, leaving both unsure of what the future held.

Krit looked deeply into Pavel's eyes, his heart racing from Pavel's unexpected confession. He quickly pulled Pavel close and embraced him tightly, whispering reassuringly, "I believe you. When you're drunk, the truth comes out. Don't regret what you've said to me tomorrow."

"I want you to have faith in me, to wait for me, and to love me in your own way," Krit continued earnestly. "I won't force you, no matter how long it takes. Just trust me in every decision I make because it's also for you or for both of us."

Their eyes locked in an intense gaze, and moments later, Pavel pulled Krit closer, pressing their bodies together. He leaned in and kissed Krit, catching him off guard. Krit responded to Pavel's kiss, their emotions entangled in a whirlwind of longing and uncertainty.
