Chapter 3
The Announcement
"Welcome race fans to the Pocono 300." Said Michael.
"It's an exciting and very warm day for racers and race fans." Adds Chris.
"That's right Chris, today is the unvailing of the World Grand Prix." Said Michael.
"The president of the World Grand Prix will announce when and where the events of the World Grand Prix will be held. Before the race Mr. John King will make his announcement live." Chris added.
Robert is walking to his infield garage and sees his crew chief Jim with his pit crew working on the car.
"Alright kid go out there and leave it all on the track." Said Jim.
"No problem. You got the car tuned?" Asked Robert.
"Oh yeah although with the restrictions they added this year your not gonna get all the power you want out of it. Just remember stay low through the turns it's the best line for the car." Said Jim.
"Got it. I'm pissed that we can't get all the power but alright." Said Robert.
"Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the Pocono 300. Before we start I would like to welcome Mr. John King." Said the PA announcer.
"Good Afternoon, I'm John King the president of the World Grand Prix I would like to announce that the World Grand Prix will have 5 legs, the first leg will be held in England, second in Germany, third in Italy, fourth in Japan and finally the fifth will be held in here in the United States. This event is an invite only event, so the racers will have to be chosen by or through me. "Now ladies and gentlemen please rise for the national anthem sang by Kelly Clarkson." Announced the PA announcer.
"Boogity Boogity Boogity boys and girls let's go racin at the tricky triangle!" Said Michael as the green flag is being waved up and down to start the race.
"Alright buddy go out there and win this race." Said Jim.
"You got it." Replied Robert.
Robert Scarn qualified 3rd during qualification and is hopefully looking to make some moves through out the race to take the lead, but being on the outside Robert knows that he's gotta find a way to make it to the bottom in the turns. There now 48 laps in and so far he's moved to second. Robert Scarn was team mates with a few racers but his friend in racing was Kasey Kahne he was also a team mate. He tried to help him out as much as possible. There now 75 laps in to the race and Roberts position hasn't changed he's about .63 seconds behind the leader trying to keep up with the leader who happened to be Martin Truex Jr. who had a pretty fast car for this track.
"78 laps to go in the Pocono 300 and Robert Scarn now takes first place." Said Michael.
"Oh there's a wreck on turn three!" Said Chris.
"This does not look good Chris." Replied Michael.
"They pull out the yellow. It doesn't look like any one in the wreck is trying to move out of the pile." Said Chris.
"It looks to be about a 12 car wreck." Said Michael.
"They pulled out the red hopefully they can get out there and see if everyone is ok." Said Chris.
"You ok bud?" Asked Jim.
"Yeah, at least I was at the front of everything. What happened?" Asked Robert.
"Looks like a 12 car wreck no one's moving though, that's why the reds out." Said Jim informing Robert in on what happend.
"Who started it?" Asked Robert.
"Looked like logano."
"Where's Kasey?" Asked Robert.
