After nearly dying about fifteen times in one night, I finally got to take a nap and let me tell you, I woke up feeling like it was all a dream but the restlessness of everyone else made me feel like I had not been dreaming. Seth had bags under his eyes that were so bad I could see them even in the darkness of his bedroom. He checked his phone to see if any news or if anyone was reporting of winged demons flying around Bass Lake, California but luckily for us, even if there were reports out there it could just be another movie being filmed in the area. I don't think that's what happened last night though.

Someone knocked on Seth's door and I had never seen him move so quickly, he grabbed the ax and asked who was there.

"It's just me, breakfast is ready downstairs if you guys are hungry at all." Ever said with a soft voice. I missed her. Her going abroad meant she spent the whole semester away which was 15 weeks. It sucked. My dad left when I was born and her mom left when she was born, so her dad and my mom decided to get together. How such a jerk of a dad can raise someone as sweet as Ever is beside the point. I called him step-dad but Ever was my sister. She felt like blood to me. She did things just for me and that was sweet of her. She hugged me before she went back downstairs, closing the door behind her.

"What even happened yesterday," I asked

"If I could summarize it, I would. I got nothing. No one else in all of California is saying they saw anything. I don't even know how that's possible. It's like the five of us were the only ones to see anything at all." Seth said in disbelief.

"How is that even possible? Someone grew actual wings from their body, and only five people saw it? That makes no sense at all."

"I told people to run, they looked at whatever that thing was and kept walking, like they didn't see it." He sounded hurt almost.

"We saw it. I don't know how they didn't but we did, and I'm not sure I could forget it if I tried. I'm sorry you had to face all three of those things by yourself, dude. I don't think I could've walked out of that alive." I looked at him as I really couldn't believe he was even sitting in front of me.

I finally got out of bed and headed downstairs where Ever and Chase were cuddling on the couch, Macie was still upstairs I'm guessing because I didn't see her. Seth stayed upstairs but didn't look like he was in the mood for waffles or pancakes. I grabbed a plate, put one waffle on it, a little bit of syrup, and just looked at it for a little while. My appetite has been a little everywhere since the events that happened yesterday. I poked at the waffles hoping to find my appetite because I loved waffles, or anything sugary.

"I couldn't eat mine either." Chase butted in as he poured another cup of coffee.

"Something about nearly dying doesn't make me hungry," I replied with a heavy breath of air.

"Yeah, How's Seth doing? Is he okay?" Chase asked, obviously worried about his brother.

"I don't think he slept too much, but I think he is okay. He is a little shaken up though, who wouldn't be? Especially since he went one on three, and killed one." I tried to shake off the thought of that. He had to kill what was a person at some point. I kept telling myself it was no longer a human. It was a monster of sorts or whatever it was at the end.

"I don't blame him. It was an eventful 24 hours for that poor kid." Chase looked out of the window at what was now a beautiful day out.

The day was definitely not how I would have thought it was going to be. It was around fifty degrees with no wind and no clouds. The sun was out and shining. I heard footsteps on the stairs and got nervous, but realized it was probably Seth or Macie. It was Macie. She had a pair of long pajamas on, probably Seth's, and a tank top. She looked just about as rough as the rest of us. She did the same thing I did, got a plate, a waffle, and some syrup, and got to poking.
